What Are Dog Friendly Stores What are the most dog friendly stores besides Petco, Petmart, Home Depot and Lowe's? Just thought it might be interesting. |
I have been to T J Maxx many times and they all welcome him . . . all stores (except food related stores) at the U-Village (U of WA Shopping center) welcomes all kinds of dogs to their stores . . . it is a dog-friendly place and lots of dog owners walk and show off their dogs . . .Tiger and I love to stroll around . . . |
In Albuquerque, most sports bars and casual dinning restaurants with a patio. We have this one place by the university that even has a section on the menu for your dog to get something to eat. I always call a place before though, to make sure she won’t end up sitting in the car. |
Stinky Okay that is it, I am moving near you :D. I live Sacramento and I don't find it very dog friendly. :( |
Indianapolis is very dog unfriendly. I could never take my dog in a Target or any other kind of store. Besides the stores you mentioned we have a Three dog Bakery where you can take your dogs of course. |
I personally take my MaeMae everywhere. I take her to movies, restaurants and places I know she is not allowed but she is a very good girl. I have a very fashionable bag with black mesh so you can\'t see her. I do not advertise her so no bragging..... but that is the way I get to spend time with her. She loves it though..... I have a tiny boy who I wish would enjoy the bag but he is tooo hyper and half an hour in the bag is all he will do. My MaeMae will constantly ask to go in the bag...... just wants to go out and people watch! |
Are ALL Lowes stores pet friendly? We go there alot and when we take cindy we have had to leave her in the car a couple of times. Not becouse we were asked to leave or anything, just becouse we didnt know for sure if she was allowed. Also what about Menards? We shop there alot too? |
I too have a bag with black mesh. Quote:
I would not take her in a restaurant unless it had an outdoor patio. I have, however, taken her in the grocery store for a quick run-in, not major shopping. No one said a word, as they can\'t truly see her unless she wiggles around. Most of the time she is really quiet in her bag. |
I wish there were more dog friendly places around here, Bailey gets to go to petsmart and a couple of local pet stores , and thats it. The "boys" can\'t even come to pick my kids up from school with me, I have to wait down the block if they do.:( |

i\'ve not ever really tried, because my two don\'t really ride in the car well, so i try not to stress them out too much. but if they settle down in the car, i think it\'d be fun |
I was kicked out of Target once, because there is a food bar there. Walmart said no-way, no dogs! Our Home Depots have signs saying no dogs!! Petsmart and Petco we are safe. We do have one outside mall that I know of that lets you bring dogs in. I took Starsky shopping with me there and I was looking at all sorts of clothing stores and Starsky is not a patient shopper. He barked and said LET\'S GO!!!! |

I think it is absoutely wonderful that some of you find out which stores your dogs are welcome to visit - and take them there -- and not to stores that have a "no dog policy." This is the way we should all behave. Carol Jean |
England isnt very dog friendly at all, I got booted out of the post office even though i had picked Twinkle up. They told me to tie her outside - and i said no - Im not tying a 12 week old puppy outside, she will get stolen or attacked, so I was asked to leave - although a man asked me what I wanted and got me my stamps as he thought it was stupid! Strangely the corner shop which sells food, loves to see her, and have taken her photo when she was in her winter outfit, and its on their notice board - so i cant work it out!!   |
Nordstorms has a pet friendly policy. I believe Macy\'s does too. i\'ve shopped at Guess, Express, and the Limited before with bunjee\'s head peeking out of his carrier and have never had any problems. Depending on the neighborhood many stores can be very pet friendly. I once visited a furniture store and i had pick bunjee up at the door and had him in my arm. the sales person upon greeting me, told me i could let him walk around if i wanted. it\'s was cool with them. there are also many restaurants with outdoor dining areas that are pet friendly as well. and when i say "pet friendly", i really mean, "dog friendly". |
