Keep an eye on the puppy you were talking about (short legged or long bodied). That'll change-depending on the age-most likely.

Kizzy is 3 months and weighs 3 lbs. I am not sure I measured her right but tonight I tried and got almost 9 inches down her back and not sure exactly how to measure her height but from the top of her back where I guess the shoulder is to her paw tip, she measured almost 9 inches there too. Anyone got an idea how big she may end up?

Default Kizzy's mom

She sounds like she's going to be a big girl as far as dimensions go. However, despite that she's quite square, bravo. Where did you get her from?
Further if she's 3 pounds already at three months...and you think she's not over weight, then maybe she'd mature out at around six to seven pounds. Watch what your feeding her equally as how much your feeding her.

I bought her from a newspaper ad but the lady seemed very nice. Kizzy only weighed 4 oz when she was born. I feed her Eukanuba, thats all shes ever had. She eats good most days but sometimes she dont eat much. She has never had anything but that food and I give her cheerios for treats. now I only give her maybe 3 cheerios a day and just praise her for good things. she gets nothing else at all. I usually put it in her bowl and let her eat what she wants. but I only put maybe 3 level tablespoons in there. Some days she dont eat much at all.
I"m really wondering If i measured her right since I'm not really sure where to start for the height. I started like the highest bone behind the left ear on her back and came straight down the side of her leg to the tip of her paw, does that sound right?
I do not free feed her, I feed her about that much 3 times a day or I put that out for her. Most days she mainly eats it all in the morning, then most days she eats part of it. When she is finished I pick up the bowl. She isnt fat at all but not skinny either. The vet said she is real healthy and he thinks she will be 5 or 6 lbs maybe, but yet he said sometimes they grow off fast at first then slow down or stop completely in just a few months. I hope she dont get over 5 lbs. her mom was just under 5 and her dad was around 4 1/2 lbs. I did see the mom and dad all her pups in her house. :-(. I am gonna send off and get a pedigree on her, when I sent in her registration papers, I didnt think I would want them for anything but since Ive read so many different things on here, now I want that to see whats in her bloodline.

I just bought a yorkie that is 11 weeks old and is 11oz's. She will probably be about 3 lbs. I am predicting that your yorkie with me 10-14 lbs.

Camera Kizzy's mom

I'd go ahead and send off for her pedigree! Even if you have no intentions of breeding her. I don't like the idea of a registry number sitting out there floating.
In either case, w/ regards to her dimensions, to get her proper height you should find her wither-her shoulder (pick the highest point of her shoulder blade) and take that down to the ground and you'll get her height. What is it now? The length of her back, measure from the base of her neck (where her collar would rest) to the base of her tail (where her tail begins). What is it now?

I've attached some pics to help you. Please disregard the unattractive Jack Russel, but he's one of the only other photos that I have that shows you the way to measure length. Now that you've got that, go for the proper height measurement. The other two photos just show you good toplines and with the way their hair lies you can see quite clearly the points you'll need to measure.

I give up. I just wait and see what happens. man oh man I hope she dont get too big. I wanted a small puppy.

You'll have pups related to Ch. Durrer's Beautiful Stranger?
Really? Can you send me a copy of the pedigree for these pups? I'd appreciate it! Who's side is he on? The sire or dams?

I would be surprised if yours reaches 3 pounds unless she is underweight from being ill or just having a poor appetite.

I know it's possible, but I really don't think Skittles will get that big. My guess is 7 or 8.
