Estimate of how big when adult If puppy is 11 wks old and weights 3.8lbs, how big will he get? Close to 6#? |
They say to double their weight at 3 months and then many add a 1/2 pound - 1 pound more. My best guess would be closer to 8 pounds, but you never know. |
Guess 4 Attachment(s) Hi. Bruno is 11 weeks too. He weighs 2 lbs 3oz. (2.2lbs) Most everyone has guessed 4 1/2-5 pounds. Some say double 12 week weight, some say 13 wks., and others say 3 months. I think double 3 months. Kaitlyn :) Bruno :animal-pa |
Chachi is 11 weeks and he weighs 2 pounds 10.4 ounces. I'm hoping he stays around 4. |
Lili and holly Lili was 3#10oz at 11 weeks and she is now 1 year and 1 month and weighs in at 7-7.5#. (she was a steady 6.5# until her little sis came along.) My Holly was 2.2#'s at 11 weeks and she is now 6mo at 4.5#'s. I figure she will be around 5-6#'s ultimately. |

My new little girl Kelsey is that weight at just over 14 weeks. She is definitely bigger than my others were at this age that grew to be 4 pounds full grown. I am thinking she is going to be at the very least 5 pounds maybe 6. |

Ollie is on the left. |
Kelsey is about 8 inches from base of neck to base of tail and about 8 inches from the ground to the top of her head (not including ears) while she is sitting (or as best as I can measure a wigglely dog). She seems like she is catching up to the adults way too fast. Does she sound physically bigger than Chaci? I know that weight can be misleading because my 4 1/2 pounder looks smaller than my almost 4 pounder. |
Lacy's Mom Measure your girl's dimensions as such: have her stand and measure from the base of her neck (roughly where her collar would lay), down her back to the base of her tail. Then measure (she should still be standing) from the top of her withers (shoulders) to the ground. If you're trying to give us an idea of her structure that is. |
I'll stick with the 8 inches from collar to base of tail and the measurement from floor to shoulder (at the pointy bone on the front part of her front leg) is 4 1/2 inches. My 4 pound adults are 10 inches and 6 inches; and 9 inches and 5 inches. |
? Something has got to be off here. She can't possibly be built like a dachshund. 8 for the length of the back and 4 1/2 inches at the withers? ... Do you have any photos that you can post? |

I guess the poodle pic is the wrong type to load anyway, it's showing from the top of the back to the ground for a withers measurement. |
The adults measured like this are 8 and 9 inches so that makes more sense since they are suppose to be square. The puppy does seem a little long bodied or short legged - how ever you want to look at it. |

Just curious why is this so odd? I am really lost. Michelle |
Better dimensions- Yeah, okay. That makes more sense! lol The dimensions that you were giving us were wayyy off for any Yorkie-even a poorly bred one. You were describing a dimension more appropriate for say...a Silky puppy! :p And it sounds like you're measuring your kids correctly now. A 6 1/2 wither height to a 8 inch back is more square than what you had quoted earlier! ;) Emmsmom?- This is a square breed (or at least it is supposed to be) and while yeah there are a lot of byb that aren't keeping to standard, the dimensions that Lacy's mom was putting out there had to be off and it turns out they were, by 2 full inches! On a Yorkie, that's a lot to be missing. lol |
