| To have Hobbs neutered, pain shot, and get about 4 or 5 teeth extracted was $130.00. Then he needed 2 more teeth extracted after he was neutered. To have 2 teeth extracted was $60.00. Both times they used only isoflourine gas (no i.v.). Good luck! I agree, I think it varies from state to state. |

| Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Let me tell you the vets are such a rip off that it's not funny. I called my vet for an estimate of the neutering again. The last time they told me about $150 which sounded rather cheap to me but I figured hey whatever. I had referred them to someone else to use as well (hope she called ahead and got an estimate). Well I called back to check on scheduling possibilities and asked for the break down again and it practically doubled without any teeth pulling. I was now told (here is the break down on fees): $35 for the initial blood work $159 for the actual surgery $30 for the take home drugs $89 more or less for the anesthesia, victorian collar and the iv & catheter if necessary (determined by size of the dog) So when I am ready I will either use the friends of animals (www.friendsofanimals.org) or muffins (www.muffins.org) spay or neuter cert and get it done at this other local vet's office that I know is good but pricey. The cert is either $52 (muffins) or $54 (FOA) and you pay some other incidental charges which will be an average of $100. So all in all this way it's between $152- $154. The certs cover the Exam, Surgery and Anesthesia. The incidentals will be the blood test, pain management and the catheter and iv if necessary. Well piss on my regular vet's office. I am not rich. I mean come on I can't see why they have to charge so much money. Not llike they don't run us into the ground with the annual stuff anyhow.

| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Whow, prices are all over the board. I guess it depends where you live. I think I will call around in my area to see if there is a difference from vet to vet. Thank you all for sharing your experiences.

| I get my babies done for around $150, though they never have to have extractions b/c I brush their teeth as well to keep them in tip top shape. That's the standard price in this area, at least if you go with a good vet. But it's hard to say in other parts of the country. Like everything else, prices differ from state to state and city to city.

| It was $286.00 for Sissy's spaying, but that included her pre-op lab work, pain meds and they didn't charge me extra for the 4 teeth extracted - plus she stayed overnight cause of her small size.

| I havent' gotten a quote for oscar yet but the price for my basset was right around $100 that was for the pain shot after and the surgery and his last set of shots. He did say that the price was a little differnt for the anestesia (sp?) because that went by weight. tha tseems to be the general price here in souther West Virginia and southwestern Virginia. |

| I asked my vet what it would cost to have my dog's teeth cleaned.... I believe he told me that it was under $100. He did mention also that the fee is higher for larger dogs. I'm sure fees vary a lot. I live in Spokane, WA. Carol Jean |

| I paid about 450$ for a spay with isoflurane gas and 7 teeth extractions. I have a good vet, but I think she charges too much. I feel like I'm helping her pay for her childs tuition with the amount I've already paid them in the last 3 months alone |
