| Oh yes, we have caught ourselves calling Tatum "the baby" and we do refer to each other as mommy and daddy. Just shows how much we love these critters, doesn't it??

| My bf and I do not have kids, but we refer to Lola as our daughter. We say Mommy and Daddy. Also at night, when I wake up I always ask "Where is the baby?" I just need to check on her to make sure she is not under the covers. I think it is perfectly acceptable to call your dogs babies.

| Megan was right. "Tucker is a dog." Bless her little heart. Maybe she won't grow up to be as neurotic as the rest of us are. I think I'm the only one on Yorkie talk who knows that my dog is a "little dog." He is not "my son" and not "my baby." He's my "little dog." I am single and I have two dogs. A little Bichon and a little Yorkie. And, I know for a fact that I love them as much and enjoy them as much as any of you love your "babies." I take good care of them, and there is no doubt that they are a little spoiled. I try not to spoil them, but it just happens. When I'm not working (and I only work part-time), my dogs and I are together almost 100% of the time. I would be one lonely person without them. They are a joy and a lot of work. And, like all of you, I wouldn't trade them for a million dollars. I'm just not as anthropomorphistic as the rest of you are (hope I spelled that right!) And, please, this is not an invitation to get into a discussion about anthropomorphism. Actually, any of you who consider your pets your little children or babies - have already taken a stand on this subject. Carol Jean "A dog is man's best friend." |

| I often call Holly 'baby'. I tell her to come to Mummy,or ask her where her sister is-my 18yr old daughter! It feels right. My children smile at me too.
