| ![]() This must have happened before I joined. Wow!!! I didn't realize!!! Yep I agree then it needs to be alittle more difficult to just get that money. That must have just rocked this board. I don't understand how someone could do that.

| ![]() Yeah, it was pretty bad. We were all upset when we realized what had happened, but of course, admin took good care of us. She had come on under a couple of different names, making innappropriate comments. It happens from time to time, you just have to be careful who you trust on the internet. Unfortunately, not everyone is honest.

| ![]() I think it would be a good idea if a couple of us could interview the applicant via conference call or with a verifiable online application that required their vet's credentials and contact information. We could also have the applicant include references that we could contact. If a person is on the up and up and really needs help for their baby, they wouldn't mind doing this. Also, we would probably only pay a portion of the vet bill and our payment could go directly to the vet. Comments? |

| ![]() I wonder if maybe there needs to be a rule that its not a newbie. I am not saying ther is problems with all newbies at all. But sometimes theres some real controversial posts. Sometimes you never see them post again. I don't know eensors gonna have to think on this now since she is wanting to start the fund.

| ![]() Eensor - That sound good. What do you think though about newbies? There are alot of people who post once in the for sale category and you never see them post again.

| ![]() Being a "newbie" I hope you guys don't mind me putting my 2 cents in. ![]() I agree with not helping newbie's because you haven't gotten to know them as of yet. But even the people that are on here all of the time can be dishonest also. And who is going to take on the responsibility of receiving, depositing, and withdrawling the money? That is a huge responsibility! ![]() My suggestion would be define a "newbie". How long to you have to be a member or how many posts do you have to have. If you say 50 posts or more, than someone can quickly go to the gallery and post 50 comments and there you go, 50 posts. Just an example. If I were organizing this I would say to receive money you have to be 1. A donater of $50.00 or more. 2. A member for at least 6 months. 3. Started and participated in at least 25 different discussions. Then the members all vote on who gets the money by doing the research of the requesting member. One surgery can cost thousands. So you may end of helping only one person. Just my thoughts. I hope you guys don't mind. |

| ![]() I don't know how were gonna do that. There could be someone whose dog is sick and they just happen to run accross this forum. It seems like you would wanna include them. Eensors application process sounds good. But I don't know Aimme really gives you something to think about.

I was looking at it more like an insurance policy. Consider this, how does $50 sound compared to a $2000.00 surgery? You wouldn't have to send $50 all at once. It could be $5.00 a month if you wanted. I guess all I was saying is I would be willing to trust someone a little more that was a donater as well. The $50 was just a number I through out. The coordinater can make it any dollar amount she wants. | |

| ![]() That is a great idea! The lady who posted recently about being unable to afford liver shunt surgery really got to me. I would love to help out in some way, and this seems like a great way to contribute. My Yorkie will possibly be having this surgery, but I have the funds available to pay for it. I would be devastated if I didn't have the means to take care of my precious animal. |

| ![]() Great idea! The money definitely needs to go to the vet. Why not help the lady that you just posted about with the yorkie with the liver shunt disorder? I mean we know she doesn't have any alterior motives. Well, we don't know FOR CERTAIN....but the odds are she's being honest. Just a thought. I'm not the richest person in the world, but I don't mind putting in $5 or $10 here and there. It's unbelievable how much these surgeries costs...don't even get me started on that. If I were a vet...I don't think I could turn down a dog in need. |

| ![]() EEnsor- I think your idea is a terrific one. When that couple took Geanalyn back to the pet store for example I wanted to go work out a deal with he pet store to buy her back after she was healthy. I know that would just be putting $ in the pet stores pockets, but that story really touched me and I wanted to follow up and see what happened to little Geanalyn. I know your idea is a little different, and I am sure if we do our research, get Admin involved and set it up properly it can work and we can prevent people from taking unfair advantage. I would definitely contribute and can even draft any legal documents you may need drafted free of charge. |

| ![]() Y'all are wonderful people to want to help out liike this! This warms my heart! As for newbies...isn't our goal to help the animals? Would it really make a difference if the person was a newbie or not? As long as we get verification from the vet and an application with references, I would be willing to help a Yorkie who needs surgery. I don't mind handling the bank account and distributing funds. If you all want me to, I will furnish references to my attest to my character as well! I know that I am just an online entity out there to you and I would be glad to give you all my phone number, address, and references you could contact. Somone posted that we may be only able to help one dog. Well, one is better than none! Also, when funds get low, we can have an online auction, ask for more donations, have an online rummage sale, etc. I would like for this to be an ongoing project. The free legal would be great if you think its necessary, Geanalynn. Also, I hope that 2 or 3 of you would join me in the decision making process when screening applicants. Three heads are better than one! |
