Trust me if my 6yr old daughter wasn't standing right there in the doorway and I wasn't worried about Kitty I would have shot that sucker on site! I was more concerned about getting Kitty away and the rottie out so it didn't turn on my daughter. The law enforcement in this town sucks. They said the dog's owner has proof of rabies shots and that they don't need to quarentine this dog. I know for a fact that the dog has never had any shots. These people don't need to own animals. This rottie is unspayed and chanined in a back yard (no fence). The poor dog got pregnant by a border collie down the street and as soon as the pups were born they drowned them. It makes me sad that things like this happen. My other neighbors own pit bulls but are now down to 1 cause they forget (or just don't care) to water them. The one died from starvation and dehydration. They said they had it put to sleep because it had mange. (I just don't believe them.) I want so badly to move but we just bought this house last July and have yet to sell our other house. (Can't afford to buy anymore houses right now.) I am filing a law suit against my neighbor for pain and suffering and damages. I am sure I am going to win. Thanks for all of the advise. I just was so proud of my little Kitty when I found out that all of the blood was from the rottie. (I guess she got pretty close to an artery in the neck or something.) I do know the rottie got about 25 stiches to partially close a wound in her neck. ( They couldn't close it all the way. She has a drain tube in case of infection from the dog bite.) I just hope everything works out.

| I'm so glad Kitty is OK. As everyone has said make sure you have the paper work to everything. Our Mandy is a Rotti, Princess puts her in her place all the time. They really are best friends. But If Mandy has a toy, and Princess wants it, she's going to get it. Mandy is not an outside dog. She is a family member who lives in the house with the rest of us. At 100 pounds, she sure is a heavy lap furbaby. She told you she was going to sue, well beat her to it, you should file first. Doctor bills, Vet bills, your door and the stress her dog gave you. I would also tell the Judge you are worried about your children, they way the Rotti came in, it could have been them she went after. Small town or not, the law is the law, and the Judge is going to want to see shot records for her. Make sure you bring a copy of the police report, and if they didn't write in she had all her shots, make them do that. The judge is going to want proof, I sure hope they have it to back it up. If not, you just might own that town someday Best of luck to you!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Here the rottie owner would be charged with allowing a dog to run at large, if the animal didn't have a city license, that's another charge....even if they have had all their shots. It's also illegal to chain a animal in a yard for longer than a 3 hour period.

| Wow...I can't believe that the dog broke right through your door!! How scary that must have been!! I'm glad your baby was able to defend herself! Good for her!! Take pictures of everything! It seems that you're doing all the right things....going to the doctor and the vet, etc. Just document everything and that will definitely help. I can't believe that they're suing you! How outrageous is that?!? |

| First of all...thank goodness your baby and you are okay! It could have so easily been a different outcome! Regarding the owner of the Rottie sueing you...is she insane? I have never heard anything so ridiculous! I'm glad that stupid dog was injured! She came onto your property and broke into your house and maybe with the outcome of her being injured, she will not try it again! I'd still be very cautious though! Your neighbor is nuts to think she could get anywhere by sueing you!

| I cant believe the nerve of people!!! I am glad your baby is ok. You need to get a bumper sticker that says: MY YORKIE KICKED YOUR ROTTIE'S BUTT!! hahaha. No, its no joking matter. If this rottie will attack doggies, I'm sure it will also attack children. Why would anyone want to own a dog like that??? |

In any event, I'm really glad you're baby's okay and she managed to fight back. It's one thing when you're out on the streets but quite another when it happens in your own home. How awful. Much hugs and sympathy and don't even worry about that law suit: she won't win

| wow, I can't believe the nerve of that lady. We almost lost Gus last year after being attacked by a German Shepherd. It happened in our own yard and animal control came out and fined them plus they had to pay all vet bills it took to save Gus. Does she actually think she has a case? And you said this was not the first time it attacked? The same dog that got a hold of Gus killed a pup on the next block over in font of the kids who where playing with it. Animal control came again and took the dog and they got another but bigger fine. Sounds to me that these people have no business owning a dog. I'll tell you one thing, if we found a dog in our home and it attacked Gus, me or any one in this house that dog would not leave this house alive.

| OMG! So scarey!!! I am so glad Kitty is o.k. Way to go whupping the big ole Rottie! Make sure you are up to date on your tetanus shot...animal bites can really get nasty and do bad things to your system. I was bitten by a cat and almost had to go to the hospital for IV antibiotics...and I immediately went to the Dr. after it happened too. There is a lot of bacteria in the mouth of an animal. Watch the bite site really closely for infection and report any changes immediately.

| i love big dogs as much as i do my yorkies; however, that dog (owners fault) probably needs to be put down or in the least put in a different living situation. The attack could have been directed to you or your daughter just as easily. i'm so glad that none of your family was injured, but you really do need to pursue the matter with whoever it takes to make your neighborhood safe. i'm sure that dog will come back the first chance he gets. |
