| Question for all who have had babies spayed Hayley was spayed last wed, we did laser spay, she has no external stiches but she has developed a lump right on the incisssion site. I called vet and they said if its not red, hot or has a drainage then to hold warm compresses on it that it would go away. We live about 65 miles from vet so thats a good distance if its not totally necessary but if it is I will be glad to go. My question is has any one else experienced this and when will it go away and what was it....any info will be appreciated I worry myself to death over her she is a baby girl!! thanks

| My baby had the laser too and she did have a lump at the incision. I actually took her in to the vet and they said it was just the internal stiches and that they would dissolve in a few weeks. The only bumps she has now are scar tissue. But if it isn't red or swollen or she oesn't have a fever I would think it should be ok. But I am a Nurse for Humans and that is what we tell patients. It has worked so far with Animals too. I hope your baby is feeling better since the surgery! Jp and Diva |

| Gucci was spayed last oct, she also had a lump. It was not red but it did increase in size. It didn't went away after 3 months, I took her to the vet and it turned out to be a little hernia. She had it repair this feb. You can check the link I have pics of her lump. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...3&postcount=18 If she is not bleeding or drainage, having fever, red etc you can a while and see if it goes away. Good luck. Please keep us posted. |

| Aria had a small lump above her incision after her spay and about 2 months later it turned into what looked like a big red zit! We were so worried we called the emergency vet (it was on a weekend). They said more than likely it was the sutra (sp?) (I think the internal stitches?). They told us to keep an eye on it and if it got bigger or started pussing to bring her in. Luckily the swelling started to go down and we took her to our vet that Monday...it was the sutra healing. Our vet told us just to keep it clean and put warm clothes on it to get the blood circulating...she said it would go away completely within a few days to a week. It did go away and now she barely has any scarring. We wish you all the best!
