| ![]() She is going to be much, much bigger than three to four pounds. While you can never guarantee weight unless you purchase an adult, research would have given you the resources needed to choose a puppy around the size you want. Remember, smaller isn't always better.

This is a really good growth chart that many use to estimate adult weight. However, you will hear how some puppies chart at one weight and end up at another, so it is not guaranteed by any means. One of my boys charted at 5lbs, and is now 16 months and 5.5lbs, and the other one charted between 2.5and 3 lbs, and is now 2.8lbs at 14 months. | ![]() I do have to say that the chart tracked out almost perfect on Paisley. Said she would be 5.5-6.5 depending on the time I was tracking it, and at 1 1/2 she weighs 6 lbs exactly.

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...uch-thing.html The weight charts are good guesses, but to get a really accurate idea of what her adult weight would be, you would need to know the adult weight of her dam, sire, grands and all of their progeny.

![]() Just curious how you came up with 4 pounds using the rule you listed? Since we don't know the 8 or 12 week weights, I'd say 9 weeks is just a little over 8 weeks & the pup was probably close to 2 pounds at 8 weeks, so the pup is heading for more like 6 pounds as an adult. I, too, like the Yorkie Growth & Weight Chart. It has been amazingly accurate for my pups. It also shows this pup is guesstimated to be a 6 pound adult. They are all guesstimates rather than accurate estimates. Puppies can surprise us in so many ways, weight included. They may stop growing early, have a late growth spurt, catch up for late starts, or simple not follow the charts at all. Many of us have found the charts to be very accurate in seeing the future but as in all prognostication -- errors happen. I would expect a 6 pound adult but be prepared to love whatever size happens. ![]()
