The rule of thumb goes like this:
Triple the weight at 7 weeks and that is a good estimate of adult weight.
Or
Double the weight at 12 weeks for the adult weight.

Remember the toy breed dog like Yorkies reach adulthood at 6 months. So expect your little Yorkie to slow lots or stop growing at about 6 months of age.
The only Weight "Rule of Thumb" I have heard is: Triple the 8 week weight and double the 12 week weight. Not a big difference, but you can see they can change several ouces in a week's time, and when multiplied that can change the outcome by more than a little.

Just curious how you came up with 4 pounds using the rule you listed? Since we don't know the 8 or 12 week weights, I'd say 9 weeks is just a little over 8 weeks & the pup was probably close to 2 pounds at 8 weeks, so the pup is heading for more like 6 pounds as an adult.

I, too, like the Yorkie Growth & Weight Chart. It has been amazingly accurate for my pups. It also shows this pup is guesstimated to be a 6 pound adult.

They are all guesstimates rather than accurate estimates. Puppies can surprise us in so many ways, weight included. They may stop growing early, have a late growth spurt, catch up for late starts, or simple not follow the charts at all. Many of us have found the charts to be very accurate in seeing the future but as in all prognostication -- errors happen.

I would expect a 6 pound adult but be prepared to love whatever size happens.
