| "But...is the 3 year shot the one that really hurts?" I would imagine not. The size sharp (needle) vets use for both is the same gauge and the amount of the vaccine is the same. In essence, the three year injection is identical in properties to the one year. The idea is that the dog has to have received the one year rabies vaccine the first time around, have is body develop a level of immunity and then you can obtain the three year shot each subsequent year as needed. FYI. |

| I will be more careful next with the shot thing...I bought my little doll...Miss Lilly Belle in January at 5mos. The following month I took her to the vet for her 6mos shots, she weighed 3.1 lbs...My regular vet was not in and he had a new partner...who's hands were as big as Lilly Belle....He gave her 2 shots with a large needle and she yelped each time, then he gave her two pills....she was so sick that by the evening she couldnt stand up, and wouldnt eat....I called the lady I bought her from and she told me to give her honey water...I tried that, but she wouldnt take it...so I put some chicken broth in it and she drank it..and after awhile, she drank more and finally she ate a tiny bit of turkey and cheese ( I was trying anything)...after an hour or two she was walking around...That was a real scare...I have changed vets and next time she needs shots/meds we will space them out. |
