| i think they do. i have been home with mine from day one, but when we all leave the house for several hours we leave the tv or radio on. if we go out of town they go with us. every one we visit with out of town knows that if we are coming they are coming. our parents introduce them as the granddogs. i am going back to work soon, as my youngest is in school now. so i got another yorkie (we had only one) now they have each other when i am at work. hmmmm, on second thought do we all use the lonely card as a reason to get another yorkie?

| I think my little girl sleeps or chews! I leave her with a chew stick or a stuffed Kong and some different toys from her box each day.We have three cats and one sleeps on the chair next to her pen and is good company for her when she is running around. I try to walk her as soon as I get home and my son does a big playtime as he is home first from school. She likes the days when we are home-either because it is the weekend or my daughter has a later start at Uni. But she goes into her pen without a fuss when she has to. It is a fact of life that we have to work! A kitten as company would be another option, perhaps? I can't have yet another cat with three already!

| Not only do they get lonely, they can also shows signs of detachment and grief. I had my own business from home so I was there most of the time. When I had to go away, Reggie would stay with Grandma. She would not eat and sat at the door and cry until I returned. I've had more than one dog show very noticeable signs of grief when their playmate passed away, even if there was a difference in breeds and age, and even if the playmate was a cat. Right now we are experiencing just that. Our Reggie of 7 years just passed away suddenly this past Tuesday. She left us with 5 baby girls eight days old to tend to. Even though I have to bottle feed the pups, her daughter, Sissy, stepped in and is caring for the babies even though she has not milk. And more surprising, her granddaugther, Roxie, is right there helping. Her other very independent daughter, Sassy, has become a lap dog all of a sudden. They know someone is missing.

| Well just try leaving some of you favourite jeans in his reach and he will have fun chewing holes out of them lol Just kidding I think that Smudger sleeps during the day when we leave him. We leave the house at 4.30am every morning so we put him in the kitchen just before we leave. and we get home around 1pm and he jumps around like crazy although we have started ignoring him for about 5 minutes when we get home because I don't want him to do that everytime someone comes round lol I always feel his bed when I get home and it's always warm so that's how I know he's been sleeping

| They do get lonely. That is why we got Sammie, our Maltese. Now Gracie has a buddy and they love eachother - it is great. They always have a playmate.

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! I think my yorkie, Sully, doesn't get "lonely" as much as he really does get just plain "bored" without us home. I think when we're not home, Sully probably sleeps most of the time. And of COURSE he's glad to see us when we come home! ![]() Sully's best friend is a yorkie named Marty!
