| Escape artist!? The weirdest thing happened. I usually leave Dutch gated in the kitchen with his stuff. There is only 1 exit to the kitchen and it is blocked by a 5 foot tall mesh gate. There is absolutely no way he can jump it nor fit under it. The mesh is too tight for even his nails to fit through, and he would have to climb over 5x his height to get over it, *if* he could get a grip, which he cannot. There was nothing near the gate for him to jump on as an interim step. I have left him for 2 weeks here and he has never gotten out. However, I left him this evening to run to dinner, and by the time I came back a few hours later, he came running to me at the door from my bedroom! I am truly beyond clueless as to what maneuver he pulled to get out. Short of flying, I really can't figure it out. I will give him one more chance tomorrow before having to leave him in his crate all morning and from lunch until when I get home from work. Weird... |

| revision By the way, when I say I have left him for 2 weeks, I mean simply that every day when I leave for work I leave him gated in the kitchen, and I have had him for 2 weeks. I do not mean to suggest that I left him alone for 2 weeks! |

| That is weird but he could be scaling the walls to get out. Thats the only thing I can think of. Clever little devil to say the least!!

| Thats very strange, they get up to the strangest things and they can give us a hard time to try and find out how they get it done unless we catch them on the spot, i hope u will find out how he does it and let us know Good luck!

| escape artists I was caring for a friends Yorkie one time and had her in my newly added on kennel area. I looked out the kitchen window and saw her running in the fenced backyard..okay, no problem, my husband must have not shut the outside door tight. I put her back in the doggy room, made sure the door is locked and go back to what I was doing. 5 minutes later she is running in the yard again...now I am freaked out..I go over the room inch by inch. The window is shut, door locked, solid walls, concrete slab and tiled floor..no way out. So I put her back and go outside to watch...this Yorkie took her paw and scratched back the accordion panels that held the window AC unit in place..once she was out it popped back like nothing happended. If I didn't have a fenced yard and she ran away, totally disappeared, I would still be wondering what happened..the space was so narrow, she had to force herself through it. |
