| I'm bragging! I'm bragging here, and you'll all just have to put up with me! We just got back from a 5 day camping trip and my little Higgins was SOOOOO GOOOOOD! Not perfect, mind you. No 8 month old rowdy Yorkie boy is perfect, but he was so well behaved in every way. He was very good with my grandaughters, who are 3 and 6. A little reserved with them, which was good, I thought. He enjoyed playing fetch with them, but preferred to stay by Don and me. We stayed at a VERY busy camground, with lots of people, kids, and dogs, and Higgins (big brother Pogo, too) was very good about staying on our campsite, even when he wasn't on his lead occasionally. The only thing he wasn't good about was wanting to rush right out to bark at and play with every BIG dog that came by, though we got some good training in on that point and he was better by the end of our stay. We met a delightful, but very shy, 4 pound Yorkie camping near us, and his name was YODA! But alas, his owner's name wasn't Fasteddie......Higgins wanted very much to play, but Yoda was definitely not in the mood to deal with an energetic newcomer to the campground. I told Yoda's mom and dad about this site, so I hope they'll come and visit us here when they get home to their computer. Driving home to Maine today, we were stuck in bumper to bumper vacation traffic. Higgins was interested in looking out the window in the stop and go, seemingly forever line, at the tolls, and spied a big dog in the next car....a spaniel mix, I think....and promptly set up a BIG YAP YAK! The dog in the next car nearly jumped out his owner/driver's window trying to get at the little dog making the big noise.....which just encouraged Higgins to keep the converstation going. It was funny. Went on for about two slow miles. Fortunately, the other driver was as amused as we were....hey, we were stuck in traffic...... It's good to be back to catch up here, watch some of the Olympics on a nice big screen, and restock the camper to take off again next week........ I gotta go read posts! You guys have been busy here! |

| WELCOME HOME!! Tell Higgins that Toto's little "Southern" heart is just crushed at the thought of him flirting with all those "hotties" he met while he was out "kicking up his heels"!! She sends him Puppy Kisses anyway!! Glad you're back ... where are you off to next?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Higgens Trip! From what I just read - He was an angel - ! How old is he ? You should be proud of him because by nature - I think Yorkies are little busybodies and usually over excited around new things ! Don't think I could take my Chanel on a trip like that - She is like the Boss of the neighboorhood here and tells EVERYONE all the time - Great story !!! Forgot to add - There is ONLY ONE YODA from what I can see ! Who was that imposter ? I just saw Higgens was 8 months - that is VERY GOOD for a baby ! I need to socialize mine more ! I think starting young taking them places really helps their personalities - We always had Chanel to ourselves and though I take her out and she is good....- She is not used to alot of people in my house and therefor wants to terrorize anyone who knocks on the door !

| Max was traveling too Welcome back to Higgins and folks, We just got in from Galveston......gone 2 weeks....Max loves to look out the window too and bark at any other canine......there were goats near our RV campsite last night.....Max had never seen goats....he ramained on alert for 5 minutes..(eg.....ears up, standing perfectly still, holding up his right paw, making eye contact and not wanting to heel or move) They were completely unimpressed with him though and gave him only a cursory glance. Higgins is acting like a big boy at 8 months......what a good little traveler. Max's Mom |

| Hahahah, Max sounds like a good protector for ya! I don't think Yoda has seen much other animals besides some cats either. He's just so darn fearless, he thinks he's bigger than anyone he ever meets! |

| Galveston is our escape place We live in land locked Oklahoma....Galveston is our nearest beach ( and no the water is not near as nice as Florida....but it is closer) I have not been to Crystal Beach but have heard it is very nice. We have a trailer near the beach.....love to escape the stress in our lives by sitting on the beach, walking along the shore, touring the historic area downtown....eating shrimp, etc. AND our grandson lives in Houston....so it is double the pleasure. Max loves loves the beach, used to try to chase the tiny crabs.....until one little 1/2 incher latched on to the hair of one of his paws....he shook and shook it trying to back out of its little claws....so now he walks around the crab holes...looking anxiously at them expecting the emergence of the "monster" crabs He marks every shell....so I end up carrying him most of the way...otherwise it would take me a week to stroll a block or two. | My furbabies love the beach too. My parent got a golf cart this summer and they love to ride it up and down the beach. They just sit there and behave them selves, which is good for Rudy. He's all boy and get into everything. You can drive on the beach, which is good and bad. In the summer a lot of people come over from Galveston because you can drink on our side and that part of the beach is called the zoo, which it is. Next time you head this way, you need to come to Crystal beach, there is some good local seafood restaurants on the bay side. Let me know and I will sent you my email address.........Cindy |
