Welcome to YT! Sounds to be like you are doing it right. . . it just takes time to adjust, and a lot of older dogs find puppies annoying. I know our Yorkie-poo, Max, doesn't like our two puppies, but when one yelps he's the first over there to see if everyone is okay. I think when the puppy matures, Bitsey will accept her more.

I can relate to your concerns! I also brought my Yorkie, Chewie into the home where Elmo (15 yr. old Doxie)had been king. He seemed good with Chewie until the pup started to nip and bite to get him to play. They would play for a while then Elmo would have enough and want to stop, but Chewie didn't understand and it would turn into an all out fight. They do play but never unsupervised and it has been 5 months. Elmo has long floppy ears and a tail! Chewie has neither and finds them fun to play with! Elmo is the Aplha but Chew has trouble with that, still being a puppy. Just keep watching and hopefully our babies will learn to play without the mean stuff.
