| Beware of Scammers Puppyfind.com Hi everyone, I'm new to Yorkietalk. I just wanted to warn everyone that I have been scammed. I recently inquired on a yorkie named Whisky which the lady ( a missionary ) who lived in Buffalo, New York was to sell to me for $350 incl. shipping. Later she offered to sell 2 puppies for $500, so of course who would pass this great deal! I sent her the $500 via moneygram (which now I know you NEVER do) and she was to ship early mon. morning. Well mon. she emailed me saying she couldn't ship them until I send $140 to cover crate and additional shots which was supposed to already been included. I have offered to send $140 as soon as I get the puppies but she insists to send it now. I have offered to buy the one puppy for $500, I have offered to pay shipping directly to the airport and I have asked for my money back. Only to have no response yet. I feel really stupid for falling for this so I would like to warn others. If it sounds to good to be true IT IS!!! Is it normal for scammers to continue to email after getting their money? Is has been almost 1 week and she keeps writing???? Anyway if anyone has any input I would appreciate it. Thanks |

| Your not the first person to be scammed on puppyfind. I wish you would have found us first we have warned many people who were thinking about getting a puppy in the same scenario as you. There is a breeder on here and some scammers were also using her stolen pictures of puppies on puppyfind. I am sure you can find some honest breeders on there but you have to be real careful bec ause there are so many scammers on there. Good luck to you I hope you get your puppy. Maybe put out an ad in our yorkeis for sale or wanted. There are alot of good honest breeders on here.

| Sorry, but I don't think you'll ever get your money back. These people are JERKS (well, more than that, but can't say those words on YT). Won't they ever go away!?!

I always suggest two ways to find a puppy or dog if you want an older yorkie. Try breed clubs, YTCA at www.ytca.org and try local dog shows which you can find out where they are, through the AKC website. You can also google Yorkies and find website of breeders who show their dogs and are located in your area so you can talk to them, visit them, see the parents and kind of kennel this is. These are not show puppies they will be selling you. They are pets sold for pet under non breeding. Not every litter is all show dogs, what is considered to be not show quality will be fine for pet homes. With anyone reputable you contact, if they don't have anything right at this time, they may be able to refer you to someone who does. You do have to be patient if you want a good quality puppy from a reputable breeder because we don't have litters always on the go and therefore don't always have puppies available. | |

| So sorry for you!!! I also went to puppyfind.com on numerous occasions looking for the perfect pup and it seemed as if almost everyone I contacted on that site was on a mission to Nigeria and would send me a pup for some ridiculous low price that included shipping. Thankfully I received a few in a row (emails) and that made me question the validity. Shame on these people!!! |

| I'm so sorry you got taken by these people. They are terrible. I too looked at the puppyfind before getting Parker. I started to see to many warnings and it scared me away. I hope you will be able to find another yorkie baby. Good Luck |

| Thanks everyone for your concern. Today I emailed puppyfind this letter---- Dear puppyfind, I am writing to you to let you know I have just been scammed out of $500.00!! These are all scams within the same group of people! Whisky, F, 13 wks 12-23-05 $275 Tonia, F, 10 wks 1-17-06 $250 Hony, F, 11 wks 1-5-06 $275 Babs, F, 10 wks 1-14-06 $275 Vero, F, 15 wks 2-10-05 $275 Jetro, F, 11 wks 1-5-05 $250 Hony, F, 9 wks 1-20-06 $250 Becky, F, 9 wks $250 Viana, F, 6 wks $380 Jarty F, 8 wks $500 Fera, F, 6 wks $480 Chicks, F,11 wks $250 Jacky, F, 6 wks $430 Vikky, F, 7 wks $420 Rammy, F, 9 wks 1-20-06 $250 |

| I'm so sorry you got taken! I live in a relatively small city in northern Ontario, Canada and these scammers even list on a LOCAL pet classified website. People here are getting sick and tired of responding to pets for sale only to find that these people are 'missionaries' or living in Camaroon or Nigeria. It sure is frustrating, but unfortunately shows us that many people on the internet are not what they seem, and if purchasing anything on the internet it pays to be doubley diligent. I want to add that there ARE ligitimate breeders who advertise on the net...there are thousands worldwide, but it's those like you dealt with that make it difficult for all the rest. Such a shame. |
