| She won't listen... This morning, Gracie got out the front door without a leash and I spent 30 minutes trying to coax her back into the house. We live on 3 acres - she ran from the front to the back yard and around and around the house. She never actually left the yard - MAJOR MIRACLE!! But she would not come to me when I called or listen to anything I said. She smelled freedom and was not going to give it up! I ws trying to lure her with her ball and even baked chicken! At one point I even laid down in the wet grass so she would think I was hurt - she did come up to me but it was only to steal the chicken out of my hand and beat feet. Half of me wanted to choke her. Finally, she must have gotten tired because I ran into the house and she followed that time. What a little witch! I wish you could have seen the look on her face - she was sooo happy to be free. I thought for sure this was the day I was going to have to come inside and tell my husband that Gracie was gone. Must be a yorkie angel looking out for her.

| So glad it turned out ok. I've been there, believe me! I can't catch my little monster to put him in the crate all of a sudden. He used to just come to me and let me put him right in. Now he hides under the couch! Today I had to use cheese to lure him out, and he stole the first 2 and jumped back before I could grab him! He always comes when he's called except, and he KNOWS, when I'm going to work. I work from home 2 days a week, and he'll come right to me in the morning to take Megan to school. If only he was as smart about potty training!

| Don't you hate it when they won't come to you. A couple of months ago we had about 4" of snow, and I was carrying Jack in from the car and thought it would be cute for him to get a feel of the snow. Well as soon as I put him down he started running, he had a blast and was a block away before I caught him. Luckily we live in the country so there wasn't any traffic. but I was tuckered out and so was he. My Husband said he wished he could have vidiotaped it.

| Ugh! Tank does this all the time! I'm doing my best to get him to learn to "come" but he only does it when he feels like it. We're also on 4 acres, but the other day he went all the way around the house...ooo I was so mad. He still woudl't come so I walked up the steps and stood inside watching him through the door. He decided that he might not get in if he didn't come then so he came running up the steps and was standing there until I opened the door for him. It's funny that you called your's a little monster because when I get sick of hearing myself yell "TANK" I find myself calling "come here little monster" I hope he learns soon... |

| OMG, that is a funny story. I am sure you were really pissed off. I get mad at Dezi because she hides underneath the bed and I can't get her out. All I see is her little nose sticking out and then when I go to grab her she runs underneath the bed. I have three floors in my house, the family room level is on the first floor. Dezi learned how to go up the stairs, yesterday while my husband and I are watching tv, I see this little mouse running up the stairs. She ran all three flights of stairs within seconds and I could not catch her. I had to move the gate from her area to the family room area. LOL |

| She's not a little witch. She's a dog and that's what dogs do! As I just told someone else who had a similar thing happen yesterday - chances are good she's going to want to do it again now that she had so much fun! You'll need to redouble your efforts to keep her from sneaking out that front door. Can you put a baby gate across it? I'd probably also double-up on my efforts to solidify the "come" command.

| I agree, you have to make the come "exciting and fun". Not a "your in trouble come" Quote:
