| Rude People! A friend of mine and I went into Uppity Puppy in Royal Oak, MI today. It is her maltese Pixie's birthday and she wanted to pick out a few new things for her. I took Jackson and we were off. I left this store very digusted!! I got it in my head a couple of days ago that Jackson needed some pajamas and I was in luck they had some very cute jammies for him and a matching blanket. Sara found two very cute dresses for Pixie. The woman at the counter was fairly nice and then a woman from the back came out and they switched places... That is when things took a quick turn. Pixie has tear stains (she's white, white, white) and the woman started asking my friend what she used for them. Sara told her she used the wipes from the store and brushes them out etc etc. Then she starts pushing the product they sell for tear stains. Sara tells her very politely she'll ask her vet about the product. The woman says 'okay, but just so you know vet's don't know anything about this stuff". We go through the same routine about what food we feed our dogs and what water we give them to drink. I really think she was trying to make us feel like crap .. like we had no idea how to take care of our pets... In hindsight I so wish I had just left the $100 worth of merchandise I bought sitting on the counter but like an idiot I bought it and she bought her stuff and we got out of there. Just is irritating when you LOVE your pets soo much and someone talks to you like you have no idea... Anyway, I WON'T be going back! Lis PS .. but the pajamas I bought for Jackson are SOOO adorable!

| I would imagine she was just trying to get you buy stuff. Her attitude however, probably made you do the opposite. I had a hairstylist that did similar things telling me how bad the stuff I was using was for my hair. She was just trying to get me to buy the salon stuff.

| Hey, this is kinda, but not really off subject... My aunt has a pick-a-poo and she is bright white... She had trouble with her tear spots also when she was younger.... She found the best thing to use is peroxide. If you just want to pass that on to your friend and mamybe she can try it.. Crystal

| Not the way to keep customers. But she probably is on a commission. I want to see pictures of Jackson in his new jammies. |

I know with my situation (currently working for Petsmart, I'm a pet care specialist. Basically the person who knows a lot about the fish, birds, reptiles and small pets) and with Petco(I would assume) It's not that way. We're paid by the hour, there is no pressure to sell. If I talk to someone and ask about what they're using for their pets and I know of something that may be better, I'll recommend it and tell them why it's better. It's up to them whether they take my advise or not. But it's wrong make someone feel crappy about what they're using already and claim that vets don't know what they're talking about. Vets have pets as well, and they go through extensive training, Ya think they know what they're talking about? I do. She could have gone about it more dilegently.

| That woman was just rude, not to mention a poor businesswoman. Even if she were to make the sale, sending your customers home feeling bad does not make a return customer. One time at Petsmart this nosey woman working the cat adoption station came up and practically berated me for taking such a tiny puppy out on a leash in a public place where she could get sick. Little did she know, Ginger had had all her shots and was older than what that woman assumed. I ignored her and moved on to another isle. As I was walking away I heard someone inform her that Ginger was a Yorkshire terrier and probably wouldn’t get much bigger. I was fired up for a good while though afterwards, thinking about all the things I should have told her but didn’t. So yes, I can understand if you’re offended; I would be too.
