| How do you get bows/clips in their hair? Okay, PK is a BOY, but I still want to put his hair up in a clip! (no girly bows, just a little black claw clip.) He's being a complete brat and tries to play-bite whenever I touch his face or head. He bites at the brush when I'm grooming him. He hates clothes like it's the worst thing in the world. When I finally get the clip in his hair he struggles to get it out. How do you get your nice little yorkies to sit pretty and wear clothes and bows? Do they struggle? Do you have to tempt them with a treat? Is there something I need to do to get him used to it? |

| My Stormy used to be the same way. It just took some time for him to get used to being groomed every single day. It's now part of his morning routine and he pretty much expects it. Instead of girlie bows, I simply put his hair up with a black rubber band. He doesn't like the bows and such...but he is okay with the rubber band. |

| Hubby and I learned a little trick last night while trying to clean out all of the excess hair that grown inbetween the pads of their paws ( I started to type feet! lol ) Pixie is NOT afraid of the clippers and will lay perfectly still while I tip her ears, boy am I lucky! but when it comes to her feet she is a pain in the ass! I mean it! Aweful! A royal pain! So I asked hubby to help. She had gotten some gummy something in the fur in one of her pads and it needed to be trimed out ASAP! I asked him to restrain her while I worked on the paw and boy, this Yorkie just shy of 3 lbs gave him a run for the money! It was a fight! I kept asking.... Are you sure your not hurting her? But I knew better, he was just holding her as still as he could without putting pressure on any vital organs. lol Well I finised one paw this way and he released her, she was as calm as can be. when I grabbed for the next paw, she did not even flinch. She layed back in hubby's arms like a baby and stared up at him and back at me, then over at the bird... she was bored. She had figured the game out. We were bigger and she had lost. She let me do the last three paws like this and even let me go back over the first one again, as it was not the best job with her yanking and squirming. When we were done she got her uasual grooming treat of dryed chicken and she was just as happy as ever to be called a pretty girl and pranced around with much better traction! The trick for you: He's the dog, your the human. You out weigh him by a gazillion pounds. Force the issue a couple of times and they will get the point. It does not have to me cruel or even mean, just firm and to the point. They are smarter than you think! Don't let them win the game!

| You could use treats to get him to sit still for you. In always put an elastic band in before I put a bow or a clip in. It just stays up better for me. I got a whole bag of elastic bands at wwwlawdogbows.com or you can get the ones for children at Target.

| The ones for Kids at target ROCK! They are not made from Rubber like the kind you find on most bows. Its totally dif. It wont pull and break the hair, they hold nicely and then they come right out when you want them to. I agree. A band before any clip makes for the best looking and longest lasting hair do! But be sure to take it out each night! Or you'll end up with an aweful matt on top of his head! Its nice to have the hair up and out of their face, and they will soon look forward to you doing their hair in the morning. Pixie Barks at my feet while I do my own hair in the morning... I have to tell her to wait her turn! She is on me till I do hers, barking and pawing! Once I finally do it, she runs off and plays... You can tell that is all she wanted. "Just get the hair out of my eyes mom" You can almost hear her say it! lol Or is it just me?
