Please Help Me!!!!!! I need some advice here. See I am new here and for the past year now I been trying to a pure breed yorkie puppy at a reasonable price like 350 to 800( maybe 850 or less). But I can't. After looking at online-breeders, the prices were too high for me.Plus I can't stand to buying a yorkie puppy and have them shipped off like that. Nor do I want to buy a puppy from a petstore because then I'll feel like I'm supporting puppymills, then I'll feel worse. Please help me!!!! I live in Northern Florida(near Jacksonville). If you have any information on a breeder in my area please email me at wollfygirl08@bellsouth.net. Thanks For Your Help.

I think it is best to get one in your area instead of having it shipped... my in-laws' yorkie, Scrappy is almost 5, they found his breeder through an ad in the Florida Times-Union...(Jacksonville, obviously)... I will see if they still have the breder's info....you can see his pics (wth a bad haircut!) in my gallery...

Thank you for your support. Right now I am researching on puppies in my area. But I have a question. Where do you find the classifieds for puppies?

Ahhhhhhh!!! I hate this. Searching for a yorkie pup in a age round 7 to 12 weeks at a reasonable price can be frustrating at time.....no erase that its always frustrating. But I guess it worth it right? I am saving my money I don't even have enough money to buy a puppy at a resonable price so I have to save alot plus food, crates, etc . To make me happy I already pick out a girl name for my future furbaby. Its Akara Jada or Jada Akara. Which one to you like more. I am still thinking on a boy name though.......its so hard pick out a boy's name. Do you have any boy names I could use?

$$$ I know how you feel. If I was a wealthy person I would give my pups away to nice people. About 6yrs ago I had a woman call me just about every month for a puppy. She felt my pups were too costly and had no problem telling me so. She found an adult female and decided to breed her own pups to let her good friends/family have reasonally...so take that Pat!!! I saw her at my vets with the pups..she was keeping one and the others were being sold..of course nosy me asked how much? She wanted MORE then I charged and I asked why they were so much? Her words and I swear this is true were" Do you have any idea the time and money I have invested in these pups?" Hummmm, let me think! LOL A breeder has to plan for major vet expensives..c-sections, regular dental cleaning on breeding dogs. Free whelped, no problem litters, make up for the times when it all goes wrong.

I agree with Cheryl Field- I also found my baby in a classified ad. Or maybe try Craig's List? I've noticed the Internet breeders tend to be pricey. | |

You will be ver lucky if you can find a good healthy puppy under 1000.00. When you think that yorkies usually only have 2 to 4 or 5 if you are very lucky puppies, and the cost of testing the male and female before breeding, and then the checkups for the puppies, and the shots, and most breeders of toy dogs do not let them go until they are at least 12 weeks, and if they happen to be very tiny puppies they will be kept longer than that. I also have my puppies checked for livershunt before they can leave, and micro chipped. By the time mine leave they have had at least 2 sets of puppy shots, and sometimes even all of them. That all costs, along with the special puppy food, and if the bitch does not have enough milk, you need the puppy formula to supplement them, and with toy puppies that are only 2 or 3 ounces when born it is very important theat they be kept warm and not allowed to get chilled or they die. Toy puppies are far more fragile than the larger breed dogs, and you must, and I mean must, keep a close watch on them for the first several weeks. I work, and when I have a litter of pups coming I have arrainged with my place of work to do most of my work at home, and go into my office in the evening when my husband is home to watch the pups. They are not left alone at all for the first couple of weeks. Someone is with them 24 hours, and even then we can lose one for one reason or another.

I have looked everywhere online for a yorkie puppy. But can't find one that's right for me. This is driving me crazy. My dog Baby she'll be 5 in April, she is a poodle/schnauzer, is looking at me like I'm crazy. If has any info on a breeder maybe in North Florida. Please email me. Back to researching.(sigh)

| Sometimes it just takes awhile (I know that's hard to hear) -- It took me a year to find Sandy, and almost a year to find a breeder for Tia and even then my husband found her, I didn't. I checked the newspapers, petfinder and eventually Yorkie Talk every single day. What was good about the waiting period was that I learned so much about Yorkies, and even dogs in general. I ended up volunteering to foster for my local shelter, which also gave me more experience which I feel has been helpful for my dogs. It's hard to be patient, I know - but sometimes that's just what it takes to find exactly what you want in a price range you can afford.

Hello, everyone after having a very long talk with my parents, now I have to wait two years to get a yorkie puppy because we just moved into a house and we have to settled in first plus we are putting down hard wood floors, so I guess there's a good side out of this. But even though I am put on hold that doesn't mean that I'll stop looking. Thank for all of your advice and if you have found a breeder in my area contact me if you can. I would give up on this but two years is a long time. But now I guess I'll start saving my money now. And good luck to you and your furbabies.
