I know how you feel. If I was a wealthy person I would give my pups away to nice people.
About 6yrs ago I had a woman call me just about every month for a puppy. She felt my pups were too costly and had no problem telling me so. She found an adult female and decided to breed her own pups to let her good friends/family have reasonally...so take that Pat!!!
I saw her at my vets with the pups..she was keeping one and the others were being sold..of course nosy me asked how much? She wanted MORE then I charged and I asked why they were so much? Her words and I swear this is true were" Do you have any idea the time and money I have invested in these pups?" Hummmm, let me think! LOL
A breeder has to plan for major vet expensives..c-sections, regular dental cleaning on breeding dogs. Free whelped, no problem litters, make up for the times when it all goes wrong. |
