| Chewing on everything!! My puppy is chewing up everything including my fingers and toes. When she does this I replace what she's chewing on with a toy but she has no interest in any of her toys. I don't know what to do. Help! I was also wondering what is the best way to clean runny eyes?

| Chewing, chewing, chewing. This is what puppies do. But - thank God, they all outgrow it. Mine decided that a certain piece of my furniture was his favorite thing to chew.....a new and very expensive chair. Sorry - but I rubbed the area he was chewing (wood) with tobasco sauce. He must have tried to chew it after I put the tobasco sauce on (I never saw him do this), but I certainly noticed that he never chewed it again. And - he's smart - I noticed that he began to smell things before he chewed on them. So, I learned that even the smell of tobasco sauce kept him away from a lot of things. I have to share this with you - my sister has a lab, and she tried using tobasco sauce. I asked her how it worked, and she said, "It doesn't work at all - I think he likes tobasco sauce. I know my Roger (her husband) does. He uses it on everything!" Good luck! Carol Jean |

| Its part of the puppy stage. My girl chewed up about 5 pairs of my sisters $$$ shoes. She got to our coffee table and messed it up pretty bad. The crown molding in my room was in her list. I tried Bitter End Spray but it didn't work. So just try to bare with her as much as possible. |

| Mitzi chews on everything too!! She isn't as bad as she was, because these days she has a few favorite toys. If I catch her chewing things she's not supposed to, I tell her NO, and swap it for one of her toys. It worked, because now, she goes more for her own things and not so much for other stuff. I also wash my poochies eyes with warm water every morning and sometimes in the evening if she is getting runny again.

| Clear deodorant is an awesome deterrent on appropriate items - floorboards, etc - you might not like the feel on your hands, though! I know that most everyone here is opposed to rawhide. I personally let Joey chew on it (which he does happily for extended periods of time) as long as I'm around to take it away before he can swallow any of it. Stuffed Kongs also make good distractions.

| Dezi biting and chewing I can't stop my puppy from biting. I tell her no and she keeps on. I bought the sour apple and she hates it. She always finds a way to bite an area that I did not put sour apple on. How long will this last? |

| Chloe is 8 weeks old and she is in the chewing stage bad. She tried chewing up our wall and we now have nicks in the paint. She constantly bites my toes. Her teeth are so sharp and it hurts when I am not wearing shoes. If I don't let her bite me while holding her, she will shove her paws in her mouth. She is also trying to chew on her puppy pads. I love her to death, but can't wait until she outgrows this puppy stage. It will be awhile yet, since she is so young.

| My baby is 5 months old now. He doesn't chew on any household items, but he LOVES to chew on fingers, toes, slippers, and he often grabs a hold of my pj pants legs and won't let go!!! Is this still considered the "puppy stage," or is he too old to use the "puppy stage" as an excuse?? I'm just worried that he won't grow out of it!!! |

| Yeah, I try to get her to go on her back and try to rock her to sleep. That usually calms her down and tries to get her to focus on something other than the biting. That is when she starts shoving her paws in her mouth. She is something else. My mom had her in the laundry room with the door open because she was trying to cook. And I know this is really disgusting, but she was attacking her own poop. Had poop scattered from one end to the other and is destroying her pee pads.
