| First bath! How fun! I'm sure you are going to have bunch of suggestions and I'm sure I will learn a tip from other on YT. Here is my suggestions. Just use the parts that makes sense to you. Before you wash them try to get them used to the sound and feel of the blowdryer. You can start by having them in the bathroom while you turn it on. Turn the wind toward them just a little in a playful way. Believe me getting them used to the dryer first will keep your tears a bay. Don't want them wet, cold and scared! I bathe my girls in the kitchen sink. I place a rubber tub mat on the bottom of the sink so they get a firm grip and not slip. For the first bath, I like to keep the faucet running in a low trickel so they get used to the new sound. I can also add more warm water as the bath water cools. Praise them a lot! Add a couple of inches of warm water and use a plastic cup and start pouring water over their body. You might want to skip the head the first time just so they get used to the idea. Go slow and try not to let the water cool too much cuz they get chilly pretty quick. DON'T EVER LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED! They are Yorkies and they WILL jump! They have no concept of hight especially when they are that young. You are so going to laugh when you see him go into the after bath frenzy! Let us know how it went for you!

| I would add: Clear the sink and counters near by. Put about three towels near by. You can also put a towel in the sink for Zoey to stand on if you don't have a mat. Make the water a little warmer. Their body temp is slightly higher than ours, so more warm is better. I do not blow dry mine. I wrap them in a towel, then change to a dry towel and hold for a bit. I usually brush the face while they are wrapped up. Then rather blot dry and brush, re-wrap and hold. You can let her down to shake off, but do not let her shiver - wrap back in dry towel. I agree, skip her face for a couple of times, maybe use a wash cloth if needed. Brush every day, even if she doesn't need it - just a little. Bathe about once a week. I get those little brush/comb sets from walmart for about 1.50 and the brush is just right for babies, not too scratchy and not too soft.

Maybe at a place like Sally's Beauty Supply they could tell you which one is quieter. Does your have multi-settings? The lower settings might be quiet.

Ok back to grooming: I like to brush while drying (where they will let me). I sit cross legged and cradle the baby between my legs. I like to start with the head and work my way to the rear end then roll them on their backs to do the tummy and legs. I keep the body wrapped up in a warm towel and peel it back like a bananna as I go. Jazzie usually falls asleep when I drying her. Starting at the head is my preference. That way I can tie back the hair before it can work its way into their mouths. You'll understand as the baby's hair gets longer. My dryer has multiple settings I never use hot. Oh! Try not to put too much hot air on the "whoo-hoo" area since it's very sensitive. One thing I really like the blowdryer is that I can see down to their skin. I can check for signs of skin problems or check for fleas as I dry them.

| I bought every kind of brush imaginable. The one I like best is a human brush made by Goody. At Walmart, they are about $1.67 (come with a comb), it is a little blue brush with black bristles. I have about 5 lying all over my house so whenever a dog is in my lap, I will have a brush nearby. The dogs steal them all the time and take them to their bed, or outside.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have towels in the dryer and when I'm done with ther bath I put the towels on the floor and she rols in them until she's almost dry then I take her in the bathromm again and blowdry her all the way dry. She loves the blowdryer and even sits on my lap when I blowdry my hair. Good luck just remember they will jump and it's hard to catch a wet dog so make sure you have a grip on her all the time.
