Your husband is funny! Now I know how to scare a goat if I'm ever in a position that requires Goat Scaring! Is that similar to Cow Tipping?
Ok back to grooming:
I like to brush while drying (where they will let me). I sit cross legged and cradle the baby between my legs. I like to start with the head and work my way to the rear end then roll them on their backs to do the tummy and legs. I keep the body wrapped up in a warm towel and peel it back like a bananna as I go. Jazzie usually falls asleep when I drying her.
Starting at the head is my preference. That way I can tie back the hair before it can work its way into their mouths. You'll understand as the baby's hair gets longer.
My dryer has multiple settings I never use hot. Oh! Try not to put too much hot air on the "whoo-hoo" area since it's very sensitive.
One thing I really like the blowdryer is that I can see down to their skin. I can check for signs of skin problems or check for fleas as I dry them.
