Cali's coat so far is not real silky but straight and easy to comb. It is now starting to thicken up but I'm not sure what kind of coatshe will have.

CAUTION: I am not qualified to make judgements on coat types.

However, Cali's coat looks like Jewel's coat and I consider Jewel to have cotton-type of coat.

It's definately not as silky as my other Yorkies I've had but she never mats. Also I am grooming her myself with ne experience with it.The one time I took her to professional she looked much better and silkier. I'm not sure if she has her adult coat or not. I never knew they had a puupy coat and an adult coat, I thought it just kepr growing.

how old is Cali? her coat looks alot like my snickers (she is 3m old) although her face hair is short not like Cali's....

Oh Yes My Tessa Has Very Thick Coat So Hard For Me To Brush Her Out I Take Her To The Groomers They Do A Better Job Then Me.. I Think All Black And Tan Yorkies Have Thick Coats It's In There Jeans The Silky Terriors Have Silver Coat And Its So Thin I Love The Black & Tan Yorkies. And Alll Dog's

It took my Jewles about 6 months to go from a puppy cut to a long coat.

Cali is 8 months old. She is still solid black on her body not a sign of silver breaking so I think she will stay prety dark and not have the beauiful silky silver coat. My last one Gracie had a beautiful silky coat but was very light silver. It will be interesting to see what she ends up like!

Thank you ..I love her looks too.
Izzy will be 10 months the 24 of Feb.
I bought her when she was 5 months old and she was just a little furball.
Her hair does not mat to bad..I just give her a bath and brush out...

I live in Kansas. I'm curious as to what kennels in Kansas your Yorkies came from. Mine came from 2 different places. If you wouldn't mind PM me with the names of the kennels yours came from. Lana
