Jazzie has what would be considered "Cotton" type coat. And she has a lot of it. I posted pictures of my other yorkie Jewel and got comments about her thick coat and I never thought she did till then. So, here is my Very thick coated Jazzie.

Pic#1 - This photo is a bit deceiving... It was taken immediately after bath & blow dry. :eek:

Pic#2 - I just wanted to show you all how shiny her coat is.. :D

They are both so beautiful! What a funny face on Jewel! I have one, Bronx, has a very, very think and curly coat - like a perm. And Quattro has a really think coat. I am thinking of cutting the dark part of their coat real short as soon as it starts to warm up. I am growing Zowie and Robyn. 6 coats are getting to be a lot of work.

I just love your girls, too pretty!

My boy Bear has a thick coat too. Its hard to tell if he is silky or cottony. I have no idea but here he is:

WOW...Jazzi looks alot like my Chanel ...She's beautiful !! and you're right - she DOES have a thick coat... :)

I thin it out now because it's getting so hard to keep up with...She loves to play outside and with Texas weather..she sure can tangle with all her hair...I found that Plush Puppy Sea Breeze Oil sprayed lightly on her coat really helps with the "cottony" look

Here's my girlie...I want to cut her hair but it's just so "HER" that I keep putting it off....She's my heart :)

and Breeze....BEAR IS GORGEOUS !! What a face on him :D

All the pictures in this thread are to die for!!! WOW! ( Robbie, I am betting you will go bonkers over Jazzie!)

Bear is LOVELY, and we all adore the gorgeous and incredible Chanel!! What pretty pups! :p Thanks for sharing these pics!

I bow before all of you with cotton coats to maintain and do it so perfectly.
I have arthritis in my fingers from many years of grooming these coats that the owner could not care for..roses at your feet! LOL

LOL Pat !! I HEAR YA ! It IS getting to be harder to keep up with...if Miss Nosy didn't spend so much time spying on my neighbors and racing thru the bushes & the garden...my life would be SO much easier :D

In my 2nd picture of her - you can SEE a stick hanging off her face :D

save your money on the roses and throw grooming products and oils at our feet! (and a little ibuprofen for the tired hands afterwards.... :D )

LOL !!!!! YES !!! and throw some ADVISE TOO...those of us who have cottony coated yorkies are always interested in what works best :D

I think Starsky is a cotton coated yorkie. But he has really curly hair on his back. I'll brush him and it is straight for about 10 minutes and then it's got the messy look again. I have tried the CC stuff and it doesn't work. Vette where do you get this oil stuff?

Chachis hair is cottony. I keep it in a puppy cut and it is easier to manage. I hate it though because he has such a cute face and I would love to grow his hair out.

Are you able to tell, when they're just puppies, what texture their coat will be?
