| What's the secret to keeping bows in their hair??? I have the WORST time trying to keep bows or bands on my yorkies. Whether I put them on, or the groomer, as SOON as we let them go play the first thing they do is rub their heads on the floor and paw the bow/band off. Because of this, I've been clipping the hair over their eyes short, like bangs. I would Love to let the hair grow out longer but really need some tips about how to get them to leave the bows alone. Any suggestions?? This is my 9 year old, 5 lb. baby. She hates bows and even trying to take this pic., she had one of the bows half out. LOL. I want to do away w/ her 'bangs'. |

| Sorry I can't help you..Zoe loves to have her hair in 'Pretties" but Lizzie who is 4 months will have nothing to do with it...in fact she takes Zoe's "Pretties" out. Your baby is really cute in the picture with bangs. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hi...I don't know if this will help but try moving any bows away from her ears....when my girls were puppies - I started out with only ONE bow...back far enough so they couldn't see it above their eyes - but forward enough that it kept the hair up....Does this make sense ? The bows near her ears may be bothering her... Also - NOT TOO TIGHT - and not too loose....You should be able to hold the hair and wiggle it a little so there is some "give" to the bow....You know how WE feel if something is too tight on our hair ?....so just make sure it's loose enough to stay but not so tight it pulls.... edited to add...She's really cute...but they "Talk" with their ears so you don't want anything touching them

| Sometimes I find it helps to wrap the topknot in paper before addind a bow. Another way, if the hair is long and thick, put 2 topknots on top of the head, not by the ears, you will be dividing the topnot in 2, and then put the bow around the 2. Is this making any sense? So much easier to show than tell. |

I don't normally try 2 bows, but saw a pic and was giving it a try. LOL. They didn't start off touching her ears. Thats just how QUICK she starts trying to get them out, within minutes! Koochie has fine hair on top. I wll try doing just a little of her hair on top and see if I can get her used to the little doggie rubber bands. I'll probably have to keep putting it back on a zillion times a day though. LOL | |

| I use the deli papers. I buy a box from Sams. They are like square pieces of wax paper. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | When I first got Chanel - I used PET EDGE Bows to practice on. ..and they stayed in GREAT...Here is her after a puppy cut in the bows - they're a little big for Double bows but it was so cute.... Then when you get good at it ...You can get the nice bows like Sue has at Magnolias Bow Boutique or someone like that.. |

Make sure they are not too tight on her also. After putting them in, pull back a little on the hair at the base of the band to release a little tension.

| I put a small elastic band in first then put the bow in. I got the elastic bands at www.lawdogbows.com.
