YT Addict | ![]() So many animal companions I have known are at the rainbow and I grieve for them all. No, I don't think time makes it any better, but you learn to live with the sadness and visit it often. Or it sometimes comes to visit you when you least expect it. I don't believe I've ever done enough for my pets but I'm a perfectionist and my animal friends are closer to me than my human family. I grew up an only child and I think that has something to do with it. They are even more special to me because of the unconditional love they give. There is no getting over not having that at your side or in your lap every day. But you're right, we go on for the ones that remain because they need us still. I recently saw a phrase that went through me like a knife, "Your wings were ready, but my heart was not." I think we can safely say that about all our past loved ones. Gentle hugs coming your way. Accept the sad memories but wear a protective cloak of the good ones so that it may someday become less tears you cry and more smiles that come to your heart. (((((Huge hugs))))))

| ![]() When STAR died suddenly while I was on vacation, I returned to an empty home. I immediately started looking for a new Yorkie. I found BB after a few weeks. the breeder was difficult, but i pursued. At first it was strange loving another, but for me it was the best decision. My advice is don't wait too long, someone is waiting for you and needs a mom! I hope to rescue the next time... |
