I was doing what your were with Duchess, I keep turning my back to him while trying to keep Duchess from jumping out of my arms. Duchess was ferocious, I am surprised she didn't accidentally bite me. My dog is intimated by big dogs especially big dogs running towards her She is a fighter and would of incited this dog as well even if he was friendly. If this man has reached an age where he can no longer control his dog, he probably should get someone else to walk him. It could happen again and any number of things could go wrong. We both were lucky this time.

| Wow, that is so scary. Glad all is OK. I am hyper aware and vigilant in public too.

| I got these to fence off a part of my yard for Maggie to potty in safely. Yes, a big dog could jump in and get her, but I only use it to let her out to go and I watch her the whole time. My son just got it for one side of his yard because he plans to move, but the nice thing is you can install it yourself and actually take it with you to your new place. My son has vinyl fence on the sides, but likes the view out the back so he used it across the back. https://www.lowes.com/pd/No-Dig-Actu...wder-C/1054845 |

| My late 3lb. little Jilly was attacked by a 65 lb. Dalmatian and had to endure painful surgery to close several bites, She even seized in my arms as I was carrying her to the car, 2 blocks away. I began to use an auto-opening big, black umbrella that I would suddenly whoosh open before the dog's eyes as soon as I noticed a dog fixated on us from afar. Whatever the size, whatever the breed, that always did the job of discouraging further aggressive interest. Every single dog backed off coming near us from the moment that big umbrella so unexpectedly unfolded as our outline had suddenly mysteriously enlarged and morphed and remained in place. Of course, a surprise attack from out of eye range or from around the corner can still happen but at least you have a ready weapon in your hand to help fight the aggressive dog,

Here is our area, the part to the right of the red line is our neighbor's yard. I like the open feel this little fence gives us while keeping Maggie from running off during her potty time. We can never be too careful with our babies! Especially now (Coronavirus) with everybody at home there are soooo many dogs being walked that I have never noticed before.
