| Thank you Matese and LovetoDream88. Have been doing some more research and found an overwhelming opinion that grain free is NOT a good idea per Vets and studies over the past few years. GRAIN FREE IS BAD. Talk to a friend of mine who has a mini schnauzer. She feeds her Purina Pro Plan Focus Small Bites with Lamb and Rice. Her Vet suggested this to her. Little Penny is doing just fine. Vet is pleased and friend is also very pleased. Comments please. |

The thing is, you are trying to fix dry skin and weeping eyes with a dog food. I asked in another thread if 1-Does your dog have dry skin year round or just in the winter when heat is used. 2-I also asked if you have taken your dog to your vet about the dry skin. You have not answered these questions. Your pup may have allergies that are not going to be fixed by changing dog food if it is environment related. Before changing food I suggest you take your pup to your vet first if you have not already done so. You Stated in a post the food your pup is eating for 3 years has not eliminated weeping eyes or dry skin, so to me it is obvious you are trying to fix this with different dog foods. If your pup has weeping eyes it can be from environmental allergies. There are meds to alleviate this, for dry skin fish oils can be added to the food. But you cannot be guessing it is food related. See your vet before changing foods. My pup gets dry skin in the winter due to house being very warm. My vet told me to use Keri lotion mixed with water in a spray bottle and spray him as needed, this has helped with dry skin, so, your pups dry skin can be a simple fix but you will not know unless you see your vet. Bottom line See your vet before changing foods, find out why the constant weeping eyes and dry skin.

| Royal Canin and Wellness are still top of my list. Grain free really has no benefits so stay away from those and foods that use lentils, peas, and potatoes as major protein sources. I personally would stay away from any of the foods on that list even if they aren’t one of the types of food on the list. I’m a big fan of making sure vets are on staff, they do feeding trials and have a good history with quality control. In my perfect world I would homecook but my boys just prefer kibble to fresh food.

| I’m guessing your possibly looking at the grain free foods? The complete health lines have peas in them but very low down on the list and that’s the only one of those ingredients. It’s not being used as a main protein source. Also their food isn’t on the FDA’s list. It’s an extremely great company. Certainly much more so then many out there.

| Yes, Complete health grained is their only option without it in the main ingredients. Their limited ingredient is not marked as grain free (or I didn't see) but peas are in the main ingredients. Maybe you can check. And they are not on the FDA report but they have multiple mentions in the complaints that owners submitted to FDA. |

Because you repeat the same message over and over again about the ingredients and the brands it's only fair to be asked about it in detail. I thought I could learn something valuable through this conversation so I decided to look into the foods you praise so much and see how it's different. I know RC well and dogs thriving on it, but Wellness we don't have over here. Seeing the ingredients it's natural to question it. | |

What do you want to know about Wellness, maybe I can help you. It doesn't matter if you can't get it in your country.
