| Coats My husband and I are having a disagreement on whether my long hair Yorkie needs a sweater. He is so bound and determined to keep the house at 68 and says when my dog is shivering he's not cold. I live in Oregon so our outside temperature changes a lot. What do you think? He also has the hip problem (My dog not my husband) so if anyone is going to give me an idea of what to buy and who to buy it from, it would be helpful if it would come off and on easy. Thanks. | Yorkie's don't have an undercoat like other dogs and they have hair not fur like other dogs too so they are more likely to get cold then another type dog. Mine wear clothes all the time. My boys get cold very easy and will shake. You can look at baxterboo.com, amazon.com, funnyfur.com, and ebay.com, and even Walmart has some in store.

| If the temp. in your house is kept at 68 in the winter and your dog is shivering it's because the dog is cold. As Lovetodream has stated, yorkies do not have an undercoat, they have hair and get cold quickly. If you keep your baby in long coat you may just need a light weight T-shirt. Pet Supplies, Pet Smart, Petco all have a nice selection of clothes.

| Yeah, it's not babying them at all - many small dogs do not have an undercoat so if you are cold, they are cold. Every dog will be different in what they can handle but if your pup is shivering, they are cold. Jackson is 19lbs and stays active and he even gets cold in the winter.

https://www.google.com/search?q=how+...yq0PEPw8W8UA26 If you're still looking for recommendations, we like FitWarm Apparel. You can buy it from their website or from Amazon. Just be careful with long coated dogs and clothes, that's a recipe for tangles. We kept Kaji's coat short, and will possibly doing the same with JakJak.
