| Do you have one of these We all have shadows and velcro babies. Cody loves being on the deck, it's quite large, but he wants me there too. I had a special screen door made with a DIY doggie hatch, it leads to the deck only. 150 foot high oak trees that canopy the entire deck and part of the house roof so no prey birds can snatch him. He can come and go but he doesn't. All summer the screen door is open, he has a section where he pottys. He will not go out on his own, momma has to lead him to the door then he goes out but will watch that I am still there watching him lol. If I step away from the door in he comes looking for me lol. As much as he loves being outside he will not stay out there alone, momma must be his audience. Anyone else have one of these lil monkeys lol.

| Mine will go outside and do what they want generally. Callie used to follow me around all the time but as she has gotten older she has turned it over to Joey. Joey will wait outside of the bathroom for me if I don't let him in. When I am in my office both boys will be with me pretty much always. There are also times all three younger ones will follow me around the house and my grandma and parents think its hilarious. I noticed when we had people over for a reunion all of them had to have me close enough to see and all four would go into the bathroom with me. Ollie will got outside and as soon as me comes back in he will stand on my leg or jump up on my chest to let me know he is back and fine lol its hilarious most of the time.

| Same here...all three are bathroom buddies and, of course, sous chefs when I am in the kitchen. The only time they are not underfoot with me is when they are with the "pack leader". They all prefer to play with my husband, and Ty wants to play tug-of-war with him every waking (and sometimes sleeping) moment!

| After Cali’s Hawk attack a number of years ago she was no longer allowed outside alone so I had to devise a porch cover that kept her secure. It sounds pretty good that she comes in if you aren’t there with her

| My deck is as secure as Fort Knox, he cannot get off, most importantly no prey birds can get at him because of all the trees that canopy the deck and house roof. I would prefer him to stay out in the summer longer then to just potty, get some fresh air while he can, winters are long and cold. He begs to just go out, so out I go with him, as soon as he sees I am not there in he comes looking for me. My now passed Matese (female) would come and go, stay out in the yard burying and un-burying then re-bury her toys in new spots for hours. In the house he must always have me in sight, like others, he follows me all over just like my girls did. There was never bathroom alone time with my girls and he is no exception lol. He is my first boy, I have read much how boys are more attached to their mommas then girls. He will stay out on the deck for hours as long as I am there as his audience. I was wondering is it because he is a male and to attached to momma that he will not not stay outside alone as much as he loves being on the deck. 2 months ago he got off my not very secure front deck and ran like the wind, there was no momma attachment then lol, thankfully after screaming his name over and over again he came back. He is not allowed on the front deck until I get a Fort Knox gate built.

| I don’t think its a boy thing. My boys are very attached to me especially Joey but they will still go outside without me. One of the perks of having bigger pups is they can have a doggy door to go into the fenced in yard when they want. I generally know what everyone’s barks mean like you can tell if it’s for this or that but I generally always check if they bark. Yesterday a plastic bag blew and stuck to the fence and it was definitely coming to kill us lol. __________________ I know what you mean about their barks. As I have said before, Gus is the major barker in our clan. He is vocal about EVERYTHING, but you can tell if it is an alert to (perceived) threat, "Tyrone took my toy", "I fetched the toy...please throw it", etc., etc.
