| I DVR'd it to watch this week. Can't wait to see the toys and the Yorkshire Terrier! They always stand out to me from all the other breeds.

| You're kidding! I'm getting so tired of how the Yorkie seems to be overlooked in so many of the big dog shows! Finally one made top 4 in Westminster best of toy group this year but it just seems they get overlooked with the network dog show directors, with little camera time or special notice.

| I’ve always found it funny that throughout the past few years that I’ve started to go to dog shows, I see bigger crowds and way more interest when other breeds are in the ring, but very little interest when yorkies are in the ring. So I’m not surprised that yorkies are passed over even on a televised show. It just seems to be the general attitude or climate I guess when it comes to dog shows. I find it odd though it’s that way considering yorkies are so popular with the general public in terms of a pet. It’s too bad. Even when I went to the NYC specialties, I paid $25 or whatever for a reserved front row seat only to find out that practically nobody was there and all the seats were available. For whatever reason it just seems there’s a lack of interest in seeing yorkies competing in dog shows. So in a way I’m not surprised yorkies get little camera time and are often skipped over. It’s unfortunate. |

They certainly seem to show well, stand proudly, prance around and just glow in the judging process, those tiny little prick ears standing so erect, little eyes shining earnestly. My eye always searches out the wonderful Yorkie in any and every group of dogs and they always pop when I see one, even those with very poor conformation. In fact, the less fortunate-looking the Yorkie, the more my heart melts! There is something so endearing in the look and bearing of these little dogs with the huge personalities. Can't help but just melt any time I see a Yorkie!
