| Sharin' and Braggin' and Healin' I fell, dislocated my ankle, broke my tibia and had to have surgery. First time ever in hospital and away from Piper. Well, I'm happily on the mend and home with Piper who turns out to be better than the best and cutest little thing ever in the universe! Piper has been patient and sweet; she is comfortable with walker (no weight on leg for at least six weeks and just into week 4) and sticks close. She also has to be pretty much on top of me when I'm sitting in living room. The hospital separation caused her great anxiety (which surprised me because she's never shown biiiig love/attachment to me--she's been ready for what others may have to offer). The result has been a hyper-protective Piper--charging anyone who comes in, excessive barking, attempts to bite. I therefore, with my super-hero big brother's help, implemented remote control bark collar, which after weeks of horrible and aggressive behavior, has eased Piper's distress considerably...We're all more comfortable and at ease--Piper is so much calmer. I'm just thrilled to pieces with Piper's ability to adapt to my current situation and her acceptance. I love this little girl beyond everything and couldn't have made it this far without her...It's just her and me alone in house (my choice) and she makes all the wonderful difference in the world. |

| Ouch! I hope your recovery goes well. And it sound like your smart little furbaby will be at your side to help you get through this.

| Sorry you fell and hope you heal fast. Hopefully you did not use an electric shock collar on her because those are not meant for small dogs and are cruel.

| You were in my thoughts today, I was hoping everything was ok, I see now you were MIA, how horrible for you. Happy to know you are home and on the mend. Lil Miss Piper turns out to be quit the lil protector, maybe a little to much, happy to know that is under control now. Take care of yourself and happy to see you back on YT

| Thank you are for your well-wishes, which mean ever so much to me, truly!! Piper keeps me moving, just enough to be good for me; she keeps me calm; and she makes me laugh out loud. Best little care-giver a body could hope for...! Piper's collar has a "shock" setting (both brother and I tested--not fun, but not really painful) which I think I used twice, but clever Piper is ever so smart and now we just use vibrate--and even that only occasionally!! I'm very proud of my girl. Love you guys, you know, and I'm thrilled to be feeling as good as I do! Thanks again. |

| Where did you find a remote control collar small enough to use on a Yorkie? I've been looking, but can't find one small enough. What works for one dog, won't work for another. I say that any training tool can be used incorrectly. I also say that there is no such thing as 'positive only' training. Ignoring is a negative response. |

| So sorry to hear of your injury, but happy to hear that Piper is adapting and giving you such comfort! My little ones are always so sensitive to any times when my husband or I are not feeling well. The three of them were "glued" to my husband's side during his recent recovery from eye surgery. They are such a blessing! Have a speedy recovery, and enjoy the special cuddling time with Piper!

| The collar was a last resort in the truest sense. Every time someone entered house, Piper charged them, barking and growling. She would charge people when they stood up and would charge and bite as they left. I am unable to walk without walker (no weight on leg for six weeks) and therefore have been quite limited in what I can do. Piper would bark almost non-stop when people tried to visit. It was a harrowing, awful situation and everyone, though trying to understand, was upset. My brother understood my concerns and as I said, we both tested the collar. I hated to have to go that route and waited through a month of craziness before using it. I think I used "shock" twice and have since used vibrate (maybe a few times). Peace has been restored in just a few days and Piper is calmer and back to being more social. If I'd had options, I'd have taken them, but faced with these extenuating circumstances, well...I love Piper beyond and love in her always and all ways. I am sorry if I disappoint, but visitors are relaxed and Piper is not charging, barking or biting...Collar was by no means my first or 20th choice, but I'm glad it was available and glad it worked so quickly... |
