| FLYING WITH 2lb Yorkie - first time - Help Hi I’m lolking for answers from those with flight experience. We will be flying from CA to NY soon with my 2lb yorkie. We are flying because my yorkie has a job in NY. I am concerned and don’t know if we should turn down the job because I don’t know what is required. He DOES NOT AND WILL NOT GET A RABIES VACCINE - much too dangerous for us. Is that required when you board the plane or get to the other state? Would a simple health certificate suffice? Do I need any of that at all? He will be in cabin with me. |

| You should absolutely vaccinate for rabies! It is against the law not to have your dog vaccinated for rabies. Not only that but if your dog bites someone they could take your dog away and put in a very stressful situation of quarantine and if they don’t put your dog to sleep I am sure they will vaccinate before they give you the dog back. I highly doubt you will be able to get a dog on a plane without rabies. Also when a dog is doing a job the humane society is required to be on set and will want to see your proof of vaccines.

| I would not think you would be able to get a health certificate for plane travel without a rabies vaccination.

| First off, my dog has a letter from the vet stating he should not get it so no it’s not mandatory it can out your pet in danger due to being 2lbs and very tiny. As far as him biting anyone i dont believe that will happen as he doesnt bite. Lastly rabies is a horrible vaccine and I will NOT TOUCH HIM WITH IT REGARDLESS OF THE LAW. The job is not PAID and therefore we arent required to do anything. Trip is paid for and food etc but no wages. |

| I kinda doubt that. I’m fairly certain you have to have a health certificate as well as proof of vaccines. What I read says you must have a rabies certificate.

| Per the Delta website, a rabies vaccination is required. https://www.delta.com/us/en/accessib...ervice-animals

| When I read a little closer those rules were for Service Animals. It does say anything about vaccinations in the regular pet section https://www.delta.com/us/en/pet-travel/overview/#pets

| Yes that wad I was gathering .. it says that for service babes because they can be out and on the lap which I suppose would be a real problem if one bit another passenger. |
