| We use Seresto for Mario and his brother. I am happy with it since we are in Texas and almost nothing else seems to work here. However, make sure your heartworm treatment does not have flea medication in it as well. Both topical and oral heartworm medication can have flea medication in them. Mario takes a combo (HW, flea and intestinal wormer) pill 4 months out of the year, and just HW and intestinal wormer pill when using the Seresto. Using two different types of flea medication can overdose them and lead to seizures etc.....

| Fantastic news on vet check up. Thank you for update, I have to assume she's not pregnant. For fleas I use Simparica, it's a once a month pill, can get only at your vet, I buy mine from PetMeds on line it's less expensive then what the vet charges, but they contact your vet to make sure that's what has been subscribed. Heartworm I use Interceptor PLUS, a once a month pill, again you can only get this at vet, I believe PetMeds may also carry this, again, they contact your vet first. I don't use flea collars, if you have success using on it on your chi boston you can try it on Tika but keep in mind, your chi boston has very short fur, Yorlkies do not, so I would check her often to make sure the flea collar is working for her. With the dark hair on yorkies sometimes it is difficult to spot fleas unless they are on their the belly area.

It doesn't make sense to me if I purchase Interceptor PLUS from PetMeds and my dog gets heart worm, Interceptor PLUS would void their warranty. Where are you getting this information from.

| Can't answer for Taylor, but I suspect the warranty is not voided so long as you used a valid prescription at the time of purchase. Whether you purchased directly from your vet or purchased the meds from PetMeds, suspect this was all done under a valid prescription. |

They said some companies buy product from other countries, if you buy on line the product must be FDA approved and made in the USA. Interceptor plus will not back up their product if made in another country and is not FDA approved. I asked where on the box does it say "made in the USA" for the Interceptor Plus it's on the back of the box, printed is NADA then some numbers then approved by FDA, I was told the NADA followed by approved by FDA is made in the USA. Hope this helps members that buy on line. I only buy from PetMeds and only dental chews and flea and tick Simparica, I pay 1/2 the price that my vet charges.

My dear, sweet late Katy was on a regiment of meds for the last year of her life. Our vet provided the script, and it was filled by a local pet pharmacy. We did it this way so that the precious one could take meds that had been compounded into a flavored liquid. Perhaps you mean "vet or veterinary pharmacy." | |

| So, I spoke to both Heartguard and 1800PetMeds about the issue of the heartworm meds and guarantees. Taylor is correct --Heartguard does not reimburse for the cost of heartworm treatment ("guarantee") unless the product was purchased through a veterinarian; however, 1800PetMeds guarantees the Heartguard products it sells. See "100% Satisfaction" for details, links to the manufacturers' guarantees and the statement, "We meet or exceed all manufacturers' and veterinarians guarantees without the hassle." Jennifer, the woman I spoke to about Heartguard, said the company wasn't questioning the authenticity of their product being sold by 1800PetMeds. |

I just ordered from PetMeds for flea and tic protection Simparica because it's 1/2 the price I pay from my vet. I looked at the box made in SWITZERLAND, reason why it was 1/2 the cost then my vet. No more PetMeds for me, I'll pay the price my vet charges, at least I'll know they are made in the USA. I am due for another supply in July, I will look at the box I get from my vet. Taylor, thank you for pointing out about the Heartworm med. I would never have called Interceptor Plus. Due to what the rep. said about being made in the USA is reason I checked the Simparica packet. I will never buy anything again from PetMeds........ vet only.
