| Constant Licking Lately Ruger has been licking me like crazy, and licking other things. I'll be sitting on the couch with my laptop and he licks my hand over and over and also licks the palmrests and touchpad around the keyboard.Sometimes he'll walk on top of the couch and lick my bald head, which feels kinds nice, but why all the licking? |

| Sadie has started that, too. Spoke to the vet about it but didn't get much of an answer. I think it's OCD, personally. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would keep an eye on this - as it could mean GERD / reflux, or a dental problem developing. Keep an eye also on whether you ever notice any "hard" swallowing or anything odd there, or any air-licking, or coughing...stuff like that. Most likely it's nothing - as like others have said, yorkies are indeed very licky/kissy doggies...but do know that excessive licking can mean stuff too . http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...wallowing.html

Senior Yorkie Talker | constant licking response I think the post before was correct. My Dallas has gerd at least he is getting treated for it. Sensitive tummy , throwing, is on a script dry food. He is licking my pillow blankets me everything. I think its allergies personally but I am not a vet. I also have acid reflex . I am going to discuss this with vet also. His next appt. isn't until next year so will watch him closely as I do anyway. Everyone have a Merry Christmas. Hope to a year of healthy babies for all of us. Linda and Dallas. |

I'd suggest reading this thread if you suspect allergies: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html

| We’ve had several posts on this. I’ve always believed it to show ownership over what they lick etc. ?Why Do Dogs Lick? - American Kennel Club
