| Just for fun how big do you think my little one will get? Hi everyone! Posted a new here thread w/this question but I wanted to ask this question so I figured I'd post a NEW THREAD instead of have the question mixed in with the other lol. Ziggie is 18 weeks and 1.9lbs how big do you guys think he'll get? Personally it doesn't matter.. I just DO NOT WANT HIM TO NOT TEACH 3lbs is all :/ actually I don't want him to stay too tiny! I'll be scared all of the time. I have 2 others a 9 & 10 lber. I got worried because it seems he had a growth spurt then slowed and he is at a growing age. 12 weeks 1.3, 14 weeks 1.6, 16&17 1.9, 18 weeks 1.98. He was around 5.5 inches long from neck to tail and about 5.5" tall when we got him at 12 weeks now he is about 6.5" from neck to tail and around 7" tall TIP OF EARS TO TOE as pictured. Do you guys think his body structure will stay so tiny? Just looking for guesses not concrete stuff as yorkies are always full of surprises! I told my husband 2.5-5 .. 5 probably pushing it lol. Also anyone know what to use to resize photos from an iphone? |

| hmmm according to a chart estimate he'll be around 3 lbs, but it's really hard to say cause genetics play a big role and sometimes you get "throw backs" that are considered unusually larger than the "standard". Understand that some yorkies can actually get up to around 20-25 lbs and still be purebred. Actually anything above the "standard" 7lbs could be considered a "teapot" My girl is actually overweight at around 16lbs when she last weighed, which we are currently working on. She has less fat rolls now but a tad more skin, but gotta get around to weighing her more properly to see progress. She's suppose to weigh around 10 lbs, based on her body frame and parental weights (her mom was around 8lbs and her dad 5lbs, but she's got a long frame like her mom but dainty features like her dad). Either way I just want her happy and healthy, I could care less if that means she's gonna be above the "standard" weight. We've had yorkies in the past that were on average around 12-15lbs. I love little teapots to be honest o_o

| I had to download a resizing app to post photos to yorkie talk from my iPhone, it was free and easy- I don't really remember the name but I bet you will find one pretty easily on the App Store. Good luck with your teeny tiny, I hope he grows up big and strong.

His weight does seem in track for around 3-3.5 lbs but he also eats a lot and with his tiny frame he looks chubby at the 1.9 lbs that he is. Last edited by Queenbeezzg; 08-23-2017 at 01:56 AM. | |

| You never know. Fabian was a peewee when he came to us at 13 weeks and from the growth charts, we thought we wouldn't exceed 3.5 pounds. We almost didn't take him because he had such a pretty doll face and we were afraid he was going to be a teacup. After bringing him home, I cried for days because I didn't want a fragile dog who'd have hypoglycemia while I was at work or break if he jumped in the air or accidentally rolled off the sofa. At seven months, he's over 5 pounds of solid Yorkie muscle. He's outgrown the XS clothes that swam on him at 3 months. We take him on hikes in the woods, over roots, rocks, and inclines. Our trainer said once grown and with proper training, he'll be capable of doing 4,000-ft mountains here in NH. |

| Hi, I actually just got him from a lady a friend recommended. She doesn't breed often, more of a hobby breeder. I wouldn't actually even call her a "real breeder" but he was taken care of, clean and had his shots and dewormer. He did still have some worms when we got Him and but our vet said that was expected because he was so itty bitty he couldn't even be given proper dewormer until this week when he hit that 2lb mark and I'be had him a month. He'll be 5 months in 9 days. |
