You never know. Fabian was a peewee when he came to us at 13 weeks and from the growth charts, we thought we wouldn't exceed 3.5 pounds. We almost didn't take him because he had such a pretty doll face and we were afraid he was going to be a teacup. After bringing him home, I cried for days because I didn't want a fragile dog who'd have hypoglycemia while I was at work or break if he jumped in the air or accidentally rolled off the sofa.
At seven months, he's over 5 pounds of solid Yorkie muscle. He's outgrown the XS clothes that swam on him at 3 months. We take him on hikes in the woods, over roots, rocks, and inclines. Our trainer said once grown and with proper training, he'll be capable of doing 4,000-ft mountains here in NH. |
