| Like I was trying to say is different areas are going to have a lot of a certain breed. In my area it's Pitts.

| Our local humane society will actually spay and neuter Pitts for free no matter what the owners income is. It's that bad here.

| " I also find the mix in question to be rather disturbing on so many levels too many to list!" Well you could just state your #1 reason. I'm not against any dog. I love all of them. Yorkies & Pit Bulls are the best! I might joke from time to time I don't like, say, German shepards. But that would be a stretch. I knew a GS who was a really sweet dog. I merely started this topic to ask a question & it's turned into WW3. |

| I'm sorry if you misunderstood me. I was not trying to say what breeders should do or that they are all OK. The video I posted a link to was an example of nature taking it's course. A male yorkie impregnated a female pitbull & surprised the owner. As they say; when there's a will there's a away. A male dog will find a way. This is why we should spay & neuter. I have a problem with people's obsession over the perfect purebred dog, and deem everything else ugly or unwanted. |

| Both my dogs are pure maltese. I could probably show the female, cause she is not fixed & we have papers on her. The boy is fixed. I wish bad breeding was illegal. |

To the OP my biggest concern besides the obvious risky size difference is the prey drive..yorkies were originally bred to hunt rodents & Pitts(no need to state the obvious) IMO there is no "accidental" breeding I'm not a purist who believes all mixes are "bad" but this seems very irresponsible (again IMO) | |

| I would get your female fixed. It's much better for them.

I speak from experience, years ago because of my ignorance my first two yorkies I did not have them spayed, my first one died before my eyes from Pyometra, something I would never want anyone to ever experience, 6 months later my 2nd yorkie showed symptoms of Pyometra, she got a full hysterectomy, however, it was to late and she died. If you are not planing on breeding your female, spay her and save her from tumors and Pyometra.
