He's scheduled for his next set of shots on Aprill 13.Im a nervous wreck!!! Ive tried Karo syrup, Milk of Magnesia, and canned puppy food....nothing 😥 |

| Just so you know, puppies should NOT leave it's mother until 12 to 13 weeks old. Anyone that sells a puppy is an unethical breeder, more of a backyard breeder. So, you have this puppy since Saturday in 3 days he has only pooped once, you should be at your vet with this baby not on the internet asking questions. PLEASE get this little baby to a vet NOW.

| I see Louisiana is one of the states that does not have laws on puppies age to be sold, in any event, for the health of all puppies they should be kept with it's mother until at least 12 weeks old. And why are you giving this puppy Milk of Magnesia. I do hope you are on your way to the vet with this baby.

| You should have left the puppy on the same food the breeder had him on. Puppies leaving their momma, litter mates, human momma, everything he was familiar in his short 6 weeks of life, now with a stranger, new home, new smells, yes, very stressful for all puppies, especially one at 6 weeks old. Glad toknow you will be taking this baby to your vet today. It is very unhealthy for any dog let alone a 6 week old puppy to have only one bowel movement in 3 days. PLEASE let us know how the vet visit went. And PLEASE do not medicate this puppy unless your vet has advised you what to give her.

| I'm glad that Midge is under veterinary care. Yes, his constipation could be stress related. Keep us posted on his condition and let us know how his vet appointment goes. |

| Yikes he should still be with mom until 12 weeks. Do not get shots before 8 weeks or it's useless. Make sure your feeding every couple of hours and not leaving him alone to long. Since he came from a bad breeder I would get pet insurance. Don't leave him alone with your other dog.

| Midge Update Hey guys. Thanks for the concern and advice. Midge is fine and as per Vet, at this age its normal for mom to ween. (excuse if that isnt correct verbage). Vet says hes healthy and was given a daily vitamin. Hes going back on the 11th for a follow-up and shots. Again, thanks yall. |

A pup that age shouldn't even leave the house until it's had it's first round of shots... also one reason why you don't remove a pup from it's mother early is because the milk he/she gets from their mother also has antibodies from the milk she supplies... You obviously dealt with a terrible breeder to have them so early... No conscious breeder would pull away it's pup from it's mother at such an early stage... It's just plain obvious they were trying to make a quick buck that way... Should at least, seek other vets to confirm what the first vet said.. The puppy stage is extremely crucial... and it's important to remember just like not all doctors are good, not all vets are good either... I do wish you and your new pup the best of luck. Oh, a dog not pooping for 3 days is highly unusual, more so for a puppy who is being fed milk... so something is really bad in that picture. Again, I wish you both good luck and much success. | |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome. You do need to know and absorb this: this pup was taken from Mom WAY too early - and you will suffer the repercussions of this, just so you know. This puppy will likely have problems interacting and socializing. Also, your vet is not advocating for proper animal welfare or health. Is that who you want taking care of your pets...?

| Louisiana is one of the states that does not have laws on puppies age to be sold. This is obviously a BYB, the deed is done and OP has the puppy. My concern is, one bowel movement in 3 days and vet only gives vitamins. Has your puppy had a bowel movement since the vet visit? Stress is a factor but not going for several days is a health issue. Also, NO vaccines should be given to this puppy until it is 8 weeks old. The puppy receives immunity from the mothers milk. Any vaccines given to the puppy under 8 weeks old are useless and would have to be given again when he is 8 weeks old. April 13 now it's the 11th your puppy will be 7 weeks old and you stated he is going for "his next set of shots". I think you should be seeing another vet. No vet should be giving a 6 week old any vaccines. Another concern I have is....you have a 7 month old Rotti and a wee little 6 week old yorkie, two puppies that play HARD, my concern is your Rotti puppy will crush this wee lil yorkie, I see disaster here. I do hope when these two puppies are together you are there to closely supervise them. A puppy Rotti rough housing with a 6 week old yorkie . Please supervise carefully.

It's really unfortunate that backyard breeders are pumping out these puppies for $$, letting them go before 12-15 weeks, and not caring for the puppies' well-being.
