| Flipping food bowl over Any suggestions or tips as to how to stop Thumper from flipping his food bowl over. I leave some dry food out as he is barely eating in the hopes if he gets hungry he will eat it. Well he has the habit of taking his nose and flipping both the bowl and kibble onto the floor and making a huge mess. He has always done this but it has gotten worse since Boomer died. He will now not eat any kibble and Thumper was my dog that would eat everything in sight. I went and bought a heavier bowl thinking the weight would help no such luck. I even tried only putting a handful of kibble in the bowl and he still will try and throw it on the floor. It's is like a game to him. He does it with a plate as well. I would love any suggestions. He use to love his kibble and now hates it. I tried some other kibble and also no luck. He now just eats to survive a little at a time.

| Poor guy I am so sad for him. Poor boy. I boil hamburg for my boys, have you tried that? Mixing it in with the kibble? Even a small tea plate for the interim to help encourage him? |

| Aw...so sorry to hear he's having so much trouble adjusting with Boomer gone. so sad for Thumper. Have you considered those elevated dog dish stands? Or would he knock that over too?

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I had this tipping bowl issue too.... put a stop to it by buying those wide base dog dishes with the rubber around the bottom edge.

| What about using a flat tray or plate and put just a 1/4 handful of kibble on it? That way you'll know if he's eating any of it, plus less of a mess if he flips his food. Have you been able to take Thumper out, say, to Wal-Mart where all the activity might distract him---even a little break from his hurting would be a relief for him (AND YOU!! Are you taking care of yourself, my dear one?) |
