| Desperate for a good shampoo!!! Chewie uses tropic clean and it's fantastic. When they work. She uses two of them- one medicated and the other the I want to say mango scent. She even has a baby powder detangler that I use for grooming each night. Sandy told me the reason why her hair wasn't getting that clean look and so dull was her dry skin and oily hair. I can't find this exfoliating shampoo she keeps telling me to grab for the life of me. Her dry skin makes the shampoo that much harder. Any suggestions? I thought her silky coat was a pain and not great, but Sandy tells me that although her hair IS thin, it's very healthy and soft hair. That's a relief, but doesn't stop my issue. Any recommendations are appreciated. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Have you tried giving either fish oil or coconut oil yet, for her skin...? She will likely outgrow this dryness / flakiness in time. Also, with her liver still in question, I can't help but wonder if that's affecting the skin too.

I hope she does, she's absolutely miserable. The antihistamine therapy is working a little bit, and I'll take that over none. She's not coughing or doing sneezing- inverted or not, and her eyes water much much less. The itching continues. Not as bad, but bad enough. We had a mosquito invasion when my daughter set fire to the microwave, as there was a hole in the kitchen screen, but her crate was completely covered so I doubt that made it suddenly worse than usual at end of June. As far as supplements which brand is the best? I need to have her on those as well. I'm desperate. I was told to stop fighting her on the boiled potatoes/rice/barley with beef/turkey preference, so I've added plain yogurt or cottage cheese to it, or cabbage or carrots, or celery. I give her bits of blue berries and cucumbers, too. I worry that she isn't getting enough vitamins. Vet has been told to call me about this, but no phone call as of yet. | |

| It sounds bad, but really it's just a de-greaser for her oily hair. I just can't find a brand in the stores, they seem to be sold out on a permanent basis. Sandy is her groomer and was a life saver. She's even a good sport, as I'm quite short.. and she's.. well, at least 6'3 and laughed when I saw her for the first time, as I said WHOA! Chewie loves her, and she follows everything I say to a T. Her hair IS healthier after going there, but soon her fur turns back to lank. |

I would even try rubbing the coconut oil into her skin (messy I know) let it soak in then shampoo after 20-30 minutes (try a small area first). But almost everything on the outside is a reflection of what is going on inside. Maybe her dog food is lacking in the vitamins and minerals she needs or she isn't absorbing them as she should.

| I add "the missing link" from Chewy.com to Buddybears cooked chicken If you want to try some send me your address and I will send you a snack baggie. I think it's 1/4 tsp per day for Buddybear but probably less for your little lady. I also free feed Fromms Gold so he can nibble as he needs. Buddybear is 8# 11oz and almost 2 years.
