| I have a few concerns? 1) I'm feeding him every 3 hours and I feed him puppy mousse and formula milk. I also give him Karo syrup 2 times a day. When he drinks the milk his stomach makes weird noises afterwards. I didn't think any thing of it until today. When he was trying to poop and was struggling and weeping a bit. Normally it didn't take long for him to poop at all. Today I noticed that it took him longer and looked like it hurt him. His poop was almost liquids. And he slid his butt over the ground. I picked it up and as I looked at him he looked guilty. I was then with him and he still had poop on his butt because He got it on his blanket. He even got some on my shirt. I tried to wipe the poop off from him but he quickly turned but then let me. We then heard my brothers footsteps and he got scared and was squirming around and had a tight grip on my shirt. Why is this happening? He normally gets happy when he hears footsteps because he lives to play. Should I be concerned??? Is it because of his formula milk?? 2) how can I get his nails cut when he isn't fully vaccinated yet but his nails hurt me so bad. He's a playful pup and I love playing with him but there's a point where I stop playing with him for awhile as his nails dig up in my skin resulting in me bleeding. Is not his fault I mean I'm his owner and I should get them cut but I can't bring him in a public place where dogs are presented when he's not fully vaccinated. Should I wait until his vaccines are all done to get them trimmed and just suck it up? 3) his back teeth are kinda growing in and he's teething right now. I was informed that Yorkie pups teeth are already supposed to be in at this age. He's almost going to be 2 months and he doesn't have his teeth yet. Should I be worried? Or is this normal? Im not feeding him solid food as his teeth haven't grown in for him to eat solid food. I want to start training him and give him rewards but the treats are solid and I'm scared that he'll choke on it since he can't chew it. Are there any treats for puppies with no teeth? 4) is it fine to be feeding him every 2-3 hours or should I feed him only 4-5 times a day? |

| Please remind us the story behind this puppy....how old is he, how big is he, is he with his momma, is his momma doing anything to take care of her enfant? Instead of starting a completely new post, maybe if you just continue with the initial post, so we can refer back to the beginning, so we can keep all these babies that are needing help, straight in our minds....I am actively trying to help at least 8-10 people with new borns of varying ages, and I am trying to keep this all straight in my mind! I want to give you some assistance, but I cant remember where we are with this baby! One question....why is he routinely getting Karo syrup??? THAT could be the reason for the diarrhea....if he does not have eating issues or blood sugar issues, he does not need to be fed Karo syrup. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 03-29-2016 at 05:28 PM. |

| Richie is 8 weeks old. He is not with his mom as the lady who owned him gave us him when he was only 6 weeks old. If my mom would've known better she wouldn't have bought him at that age as he was and still is young. He is getting Karo syrup because the vet suggested it for hypoglycemia. I gave him Karo syrup before and nothing happened. Up until today. The only thing I did differently today was giving him his food before his formula milk. Well the vet just gave us a sheet that said what hypoglycemia was and how to treat it. Last edited by Blue gumdrops; 03-29-2016 at 05:35 PM. |

| The best thing to PREVENT hypoglycemia is Dr.Millers Nutra Drops...you get it on Amazon.com. I think they have bought the rights from Dr.Miller and removed his name....it is now called Health Extension Nutra Drops. It is a vitamin fortified tonic, rather than straight sugar bolt like syrup and sugar, etc....Karo and other syrups, that stuff in a tube (?? NutraCal ??) just boosts their sugar up to keep them from hypoglycemia, but then they must eat afterwards, because this stuff does nothing but give them a quick sugar jolt, to prevent them from dropping from lo blood sugar....the stuff I use and recommend is vitamine fortified and will stay with them as well as elevate their blood sugar for a much longer period of time.....you can give your pup doses of Nutra Drops every 4 hours for as long as 24 hours, like on plane trips or long car rides, and they will do fine on it....PLEASE use this stuff as opposed to NutraCal which is nothing but a thick, gooey, bolt of sugar stuff that jerks them back from the jaws of death for an hour or so...it is NOT nutritious....they can not live on it for 24 hours....it is an emergency treatment....the Nutra Drops from Health Extension will not only keep their sugar up, it is healthy and you can give it when they cant eat like on car trips, plane trips, etc....and they will be just fine on it....PLEASE, order this from Amazon.com and give this baby 1cc by mouth, every 4-5 hours...it will stabilize his sugar, you wont be having highs and lows and all the uncertainty....I THINK it is against the law in Texas to off load a puppy before 8 weeks old in the State of Texas....my mind, heart, and soul is continually broken by the proliferation of people dumping under aged enfants on people that are not equipped to nurture these immature, under aged, babies.....It breaks my heart and it is sooooooooo discouraging to continually see people running out and buying illegally sold puppies, then struggling to keep these babies alive....this is soooo wrong, on so many different levels. I feel like some of us are continually banging our heads on a brick wall, and it is doing absolutely ZERO good.... OK...... Puppy mousse with warm formula stirred into it to make a slush like the consistency of a loose mush that he can easily lap up. (You can add 1/2cc of the Nutra Drops to this feeding, but be sure he eats all the feeding) WHAT "formula" are you feeding? PLEASE, feed a canned formula, go out and buy cans of JUST BORN with COLOSTRIUM....cut the 8 oz of canned formula with 4 oz of Pedialyte.....put the serving in a zip lock bag and heat it in hot water from the faucet.....this puppy can drink this formula between meals of mousse with some of the warmed formula stirred into it to make it a slush.......you can even add 1/2cc of the Nutra Drops to this mixture, so he gets his sugar.... PLEASE, get this baby the Health Extension Nutra Drops and give baby 1cc every 6 hours....the baby will love it and it is great for the baby...it is vitamins and balanced, NOT just a bolt of sugar like Karo or NutraCal....you can mix a 1/4cc into into his meal of mousse if you want to, even 1/4cc into his milk formula......just be absolutely sure he gets the dose because if he does not eat, it will be the Nuta Drops that keep his calories and his nourishment and his sugars up.....you must keep up with how much Nutra Drops he is getting in 24 hour period, simply to be sure his blood sugars stay on an even keel....if he is not finishing his entire meal of mousse or his entire amount of formula, then you are safer to just give it directly into his mouth, every 4-6 hours, around the clock... He is getting constipated because of his meals...if you stick with the mousse, and supplement his feedings with the JUST BORN puppy milk, his stools will get right....
