| I was reading today about hair types I did not know there were three type of hair Yorkies can have. Wiry, soft and silky. I have a friend that has one that has beautiful long tri colored wiry hair. My Cooper seems to fit the soft hair that makes him look twice his size. It's slightly wavy and very thick. The article said that the silky hair (thin, silky and doesn't tangle easiy) are the only ones that should be bred, because that is the AKC standard. Wondering what kinds of hair do your dogs have? |

| We have a rehomed yorkie that has a very straight, short(never grows much) coat. I do not know her background so I would be tempted to think she is not all yorkie. She must be close to ten and is still very black and dark rich tan. My Ziva is cottony but silky, never a knot but very fine, I call her black crushed velvet and keep her short because she gets a lot of breakage- at seven she is black with a little silver around the edges with a pretty gold head and legs. Abby is five and silky and takes no care but a quick brush with a cat brush and fades to silver in our sun and pool chlorine- she will grow in darker thru the winter- her head and legs are a champagne blonde. When Abby and Ziva are wet in the pool you can hardly tell them apart it is their hair that defines their looks. |

| Mario's is fairly straight, and short/medium. It was rather wirey when we first got him, but now using 4-legger shampoo and Infusium-23 it is rather soft even right before his bath is due. He has the perfect cuddle factor in his hair and personality not that I am biased.

| My girl has a very fluffy/wavy and shiny cotton coat. She'll look "fatter" as it grows out ^^;; If it werent' for the fluffy waviness I'd have thought she had silk. But then I read about another way to tell is what colors shines from the eyes. Not always accurate but I hear it's correct the majority of the time. Green/blue - silk coat; Brown/Yellow/Red - cotton and I'm not sure of wire coat, I think it's also brown/yellow or something. My girl's shine red (like red pepper paste XD)

| Emma has an amazing coat. It's silky and grows like hair. Very easy to manage as she has a long coat .
