I can just see Charlie in a Harley, LOL. The.mini horse or goat isn't a bad idea but to be acceptable it would probably have to be a registered service animal for their neeeeeeeeborhood. I did the thundershirt for Buddybear and all I can say is it was excellent for absorbing the pee! If you ever come up with the solution please post and give me the secret.:aimeeyork |

In ALL seriousness, I live where a huge Harley rally comes every year in May. Without fail every year a man rides in with his Yorkie on the bike with him (no kidding) I have seen the Yorkie riding in a sling across the mans chest, and I have seen him tethered somehow on the seat/tank area sitting in front of the man! Mind you there are literally thousands of bikes that come through, but there is no mistaking the man with the Yorkie, lone rider, blinged out bike, rough looking, big as a barrell man with this cute Yorkie with a Harley shirt and goggles :D I will try my best to get pics of it this year, it's too funny! |

Reading your siggie, and I JUST figured it out!! You fairly recently acquired a fox, badger or rat living in your car and Charlie can hear it best at intersections and parking lots. He is just doing his job DAD!!! Get an exterminator for the car and your problem will be solved. On the very unlikely chance that does not solve your issue, try a medium or an exorcism ......................................... no not for Charlie silly, the car!! |

We all know that goats simply cannot be service animals since they would eat the leash and harness and the seat belt and part, if not all, the car back seat and the owner's shoe laces and the owner's shoes and the tires on the shopping cart and maybe even the tires on the car. STOP being soooooo silly!! |
Mayzoo--you're a little meatball! Smooch! |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 409089Well, a member PM'd me and said to try putting Charlie in a soft "crate" and see what happens. We just happen to have a traveler with one screened opening so we put him on the floor of our Van with the screen pointing forward so he could at least see the console and the wife could put her hand on the screen and talk to him. Well gang - it worked! NOT! It worked right up until I put on my turn signal to turn at an intersection and then it got so bad - I was getting dizzy! Turned around and left Charlie at home. Like my granddaughter says - Oh Well!:( |

Does Charlie try to go with you when you leave? How is that handsome little boy when you return from outings? This, too, may have already been suggested, but what about short trips around the neighborhood and such? Is he comfortable with those car rides? I tell ya, he is as difficult to figure out as he is cute--and that's extreme! We just gotta get him right because he really is too much of a character not to show off and too cute not to be exposed to and adored by the masses~~really-truly. |

1 Attachment(s) Attachment 409146Update time! Took ole Charlie to the vet about his baby teeth. Previously, the vet said wait until he is one year old and they will extract his baby teeth. The vet (office has 3 vets) said he has never seen a Yorkie with so many baby teeth! Yea, Charlie strikes again! :) His 1st Birthday will be spent at the Vet Hospital having his baby teeth extracted. Oh yea, Charlie is completely paper trained here in PA. However, when we took him to Florida he flat out refused to use the paper! I went to the expense of replicating the exact same setup (crate, paper, etc.) but he knew it wasn't the same. :) He simply wouldn't use it. He would poop just outside the setup and that wasn't going to fly. So I took him outside and he did his thing. He is pretty regular so it wasn't a real issue other then he refused to go potty IF it was raining. Yes, I had to hold an umbrella over him in order for the King to go! Did that for 6 weeks - no problem. OMG - what have we created! :) Anyway, I was concerned about having to take him out in the cold weather in PA considering he refused to use paper in Florida. We returned to a bunch of snow and ice cold weather - what was I going to do now. Well, that little turkey went right over to his paper and did his thing - no problem! This dog is killing me! :) |

And I too have done the barking back at her thing, so I know EXACTLY what you are talking about - LOL. The bottom line is that I have just about given up and try not to get too upset at her because most of the time she is a really, really good dog. Just a little bit nuts the rest of the time!! |

Anyway, I thought I would share this with you. I feel your "pain". LOL |
For what it's worth.........I bought some of "Richards Calm" for dogs. It's in a dropper. I've used it 3 times. I'm honestly going to use it a few more times but so far it's not a miracle cure. I can't even rate it from say a 10 down to a 6......BUT, I spoke to a Yorkie owner today that said he will calm down as he gets older. She has an older Yorkie and one Buddybears age. We have Hope!!!!!!!! |

You knooooowwwwww...Maybe darlin', charmin' Charlie needs a buddy! A partner, if you will, to distract him from the rigors of the road (i.e. trips to the mall, et al). Nowww, I can hear you arguing that, instead of this being a solution, you could end up with twice the trouble--and that's true. So maybe you could "borrow" a neighbor's dog for a, ah-hem, test drive. And yes, I am totally picturing the Subaru dog-tested, dog-approved commercials and yep, I'm picturing a nice, gentle, lovely golden next to Charlie. Ahhhh, it's almost zen-like. |

My groomer suggested a Shihtzu for the next dog cause they are calmer and lap size. That tv commercial almost makes me want another golden-------no, I had no clue what car was being advertised, lol, their $$$$$$$$ in advertising was wasted on me.😱 |
Just love those clever commercials and must admit that I, too, was unsure of which car it was for...had to look on internet to be certain! |

Now Prince Charming was the very opposite. Loved to go for the ride BUT Grandma's lap belonged ONLY to him. Of course our other 2 had their private places as well. Faline (as in Bambi's doe) slept on the seat next to her mistress and Cocoa slept between the bucket seats on a raised air pad so she would be able to assist in anything I needed. A story about Cocoa if you don't mind -- She was a chocolate Lab service dog. I bought her at 11 weeks of age and began training her immediately. One day after she had mastered her ability to ride the cart in WalMart between my feet we went back to the car. Cocoa worked in a guide dog harness as it was the one that gave her the ability to keep me walking forward. As we left the store and placed all of the groceries in the car, we walked around to the driver's side to load up for the drive home. A black & white (only color for a police car) pulled to a stop behind my car. He jumped out and said "Lady you are NOT driving this van anywhere. Blind people do not have the right to drive." Trying not to laugh too much, I explained that Cocoa was a service dog but not a guide dog. I could see everything completely and he said "Prove it", wrote a note on his hand and made me read it to him. To top it off as his Major went into the store I waved to him as we had been friends already 6 years. The Major was the one laughing because of the officer stopping me. Actually the Major had done this same exact thing. Our picture -- me and Cocoa -- was put in the briefing room so ever officer could read the notation. I kinda missed being stopped but life must go on. Just had to give my Cocoa a spot of pure pleasure here. Cocoa would even catch money and bring it back to me. She was one special girl. My second angel. |

The big problem was the wife started complaining about jumping out of a moving car so Charlie wouldn't have one of his fits! Well, I mean, really... "moving." I would imagine if she simply took some movie stunt classes and dressed in the proper safety gear... 'Twould seem little lord Charlie is out maneuvering each and every one of us~~It's so terribly wrong and yet somehow, so terribly expected and yes, even right...I'm done for---for NOW only--I refuse to admit defeat! |
2 Attachment(s) Attachment 409198Well, this is Charlie when we leave the house now - he just looks out the front door and wonders why we left without him. It was sad the first few times so we took him with us. BIG MISTAKE - he tried to catch up on all the barking and screaming we missed out on. So, here he is - watching us leave and trying to figure out why we left him...so sad. :( Attachment 409199 |
