I believe there are some very stylish earmuffs these days...Granted, you may get a second look or two from fellow Floridian drivers, but at least you'll be spared hearing their uproarious laughter. I shall continue to ponder your predicament with charming, relentless Charlie---he is such a cute, cute, cute little dickens---I can never stay mad at him!! |

Agressive when he sees me pointing it at him. He doesn't pay any attention to it if he can't see it......but fire trucks and police sirens don't faze him either. When you find something that works I Want to Know. I bought Buddybear the thunder shirt for car trips and he is just as noisy as ever. |

I have just now caught back up to this post and OMG I have had several LOL moments reading it and watching the videos! Charlie is large and in charge in his mind:D honestly I have enjoyed reading about Charlie, BuddyBear and Piper, I take comfort in knowing that I am not alone in being OWNED by these little Yorkies! It reminds me of a post a few weeks ago about YMC "Yorkie Mind Control" it was hilarious and very accurate! You gotta love them, their personalities are off the charts, they work very hard to keep us in line ;) |
Oh yes, the mind control thing is off the charts funny! And gosh darn it, totally on the money--those eyes, those looks...totally love our totally amazing little babes. |
I do too, they are so dang cute and loving. They have some serious power - one minute you are ready to pull your hair out and the next they have you mesmerized, lol it's crazy but a good crazy! I am proud to say I have been owned by two of these little babes, my Jig has gone to Rainbows Bridge and I miss him terribly...My Presley has taken the mantle on & is doing a beautiful job just like Jingle did with the YMC lol! |
I notice that Charlie is now 9 or 10 months old. Could it be that the carrier that you are using is getting more confining for him? He is freaking out for some reason and I can't imagine it being good for him. Is the carrier recommended for the size of a dog Charlie is now and will be in the next 4 months? They usually continue to put on weight until they are 12 to 14 months of age. |

Now, the latest is today we decided to pet him when we came close to a turn - about a mile out I would start reaching over and petting him - DANG! He didn't scream at all! Well, actually, he stopped the screaming when making turns as long as I was petting him BUT when I pulled into 7-11 for a cup of coffee - he was quiet on the turn into the parking lot BUT when I shut off the car - he scared the CRAP OUT OF ME! Yes - he screamed and screamed and screamed until I got completely out of the car. :) |

You might want to look into a modified ejector seat (ala the ones in jets)--you know, for sake of your lovely wife and that lil' Screamin' Eagle of yours... |

Charlie refuses to quit barking and now Piper refuses to eat--no, not everything--just the good-for-her-food...And like Charlie, she is very strong-willed, stubborn and too cute for my own good...big sigghhh... |

Oh my gosh I read til I laughed then cried because I was laughing so hard with most of this thread. You've got your hands full. But even tho they can be a handful they are such a joy. |
Just read this thread. And I can just see Charlie telling you how it is. He is having one tough time training you lol. My Riley at nights will whine and soft bark until I cover him up. Don't put covers on me right away silly. You get to sleep and then I will decide when I will awake you to cover me up. Yup he has me trained. Good luck |
1 Attachment(s) Attachment 408757OMG - we got something on ole Charlie! The wife was on the phone with our Granddaughter and let out a fake cry. WELL - ole Charlie ran across the room to her and scratched her leg like he was checking to make sure she was ok. Well, at the moment we realized WE had the upper hand so the wife stopped, let Charlie jump on one of his toys and she let out a cry. Yuppa - ole Charlie ran over to her and scratched leg and the wife stopped. Well, we did this for almost a half an hour thoroughly enjoying ourselves at his expense - cry and scream now Charlie! :) |

BEGIN becoming the alpha dog -- YOU not your baby. If she tries to get your attention by scratching your legs, move the leg and turn your back to her. JUST told her to wait until invited. After a couple of minutes turn back around and pet her IF she does not jump on you again. If her little toes go on your leg again repeat her lesson and she will get the body language message loud and clear BUT you must be consistent. If you give in just once she will know she can get away with USUALLY unacceptable behavior if she repeats the behavior x-number of times. May take a few times but you do not want her jumping up and putting a run in your stockings when you are going out for a wonderful date with your husband.:D [If he does not have a date lined up - You make all the arrangements and surprise him. (Worked for my fiance before he fell-in-the-line. James had a wonderful time sharing that with the other guys on his watch. :bravo: Still miss him after 45 yrs).]:( |

Uh-ohhh, pride goeth before the fall or something like...I congratulate you on this weird turn of events (pranking that cute boy), but I gotta say, my money is on Charlie. You know, the bright planets are not going to be aligned much longer and whacky stuff will stop. I see Charlie regaining his senses while you continue to lose yours---and oh dear, it's hard to imagine what's next. |
