| Joint popping noise on puppy My Yorkies joints make a popping like noise which makes me start thinking of LP. But it seems like all four of her legs pop. She's 15 weeks old. They have made that noise ever since she I got her at 8 weeks. Has anyone had this happen or is it normal? I've just been worrying a lot. I told my vet and she said it's too soon to tell if she will have LP. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would definitely have a vet palpate these "popping" joints nonetheless. I'd also tell/ask the breeder about this. Does the breeder have a health guarantee ?

No it is not too early to tell if she has *loose knees* it is possible that the knees will firm up as she matures - but there is no guarantee on that. All four leg involvement that is certainly concerning. I would be seeking out an orthopaedic specialist to have her examined.

| She's going back for her shots on Friday so I'll have another vet take a look. She did come with a health guarantee but I don't think it would cover the cost of anything if it were to come up. She would just be replaced and I couldn't do that..

On specfically the knees - keep her lean and trim - allow NO jumping off sofas or beds. Keep her fit. Daily walks. Running around should not be on slippery surfaces. Look at a joint supplement. THis is conservative medical management. She is your dog and by following this advice no harm will come to her.

Good idea to get pet insurance BEFORE you take her into a specialist. You don't want the insurance to deny coverage for a pre existing condition. Get the insurance asap, then get a second opinion. I would not ask the vet about it until you get that insurance locked in (or at least make sure it's not on paper), and make sure they cover genetic conditions, not just accidents like broken bones, and routine stuff like shots/spay. That in my opinion isn't insurance, just a payment plan.
