Here is my rule if you want a second opinion go to a specialist. Might be a little more pricey - but will save you big time in the long run. General vets sometimes don't like to deal with me as I come armed with a whole lot of information - and I ask a whole lot of questions. My wonderfull retired 3 yrs ago and I am just now settling into a new general vet.

On specfically the knees - keep her lean and trim - allow NO jumping off sofas or beds. Keep her fit. Daily walks. Running around should not be on slippery surfaces. Look at a joint supplement. THis is conservative medical management. She is your dog and by following this advice no harm will come to her.
