| Testicle infection :( Hi, I have a 14 month old yorkie called Hamelt. He hasnt been fixed as he isn't aggressive or a humper etc, lovely natured dog. And I don't plan to breed him either. When he has a poo he will kind of handstand agaist a tree or go in the middle of bushes. The otherday he kept jumping on me licking my face and then looking down on himself, noticed his testicles were very dry and swollen, and today they are red from were he has been licking them. We took him to the vets who said it's a infection and gave him two lots of medication, she also said if it does not clear up by next week he will need to be castrated. Which I'm okay with if it has to be done. Has anyone else had this problem? Also how can I stop licking them? As he's making them sore x Lisa x |

| An inflatable E-collar, a plastic E-collar or a baby onsie all will likely work well for the licking.

| Oh poor buddy yes an e collar may be your best bet. I have heard some folks use onesies (like for a human baby) and just take them off to go potty. I hope he heals well. If he is prone to these issues it may just be best to castrate anyhow. Hope your guy feels better soon!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Poor baby, that must really hurt! Do you have something for pain? I hope so. I'd use either an e-collar or a onesie.

| Youch! Poor little dude :-( if you have no plans to breed him I would recommend getting him neutered after the infection has cleared. Keeping him in tact he has a higher risk for cancer or just flat getting into trouble running off looking for love. Since he appears to be an obsessive licker, like someone else mentioned, definately get him a collar or cone to keep him off his man parts!
